I got my freshly polished fuchs mounted this weekend (thanks Hoosier Tire! smilie_pokal.gif )

Have we come to a consensus on proper cleaning?
mild soap and water?

Better give them some kind of coating (at least wax, but look for something more substantial) and be prepared to clean them a lot
Bare alu will corrode like a MOFO and loves to absorb brakedust...

I had my Fuchs polished and hated my self for it ever since headbang.gif
YMMV

The P21 wheel cleaner you see in performance and other catalogs. Have used it on my fuchs for over 18 years. Don't bother with anything else. The clear anodized 5 lug fuchs are very sensitive to harsh cleaners.

then coat with vaseline..... or spray on some generic (pam) cooking oil ... wipe off.. I kid you not...

becareful you dont give the rotors a coating of the oil though laugh.gif

you can have nice shiny wheels and not have the brake dust "glue" itself to the wheel

oh P21 , get the clingy stuff the other stuff just runs to the bottom of the wheel

if they are polished, good chances they are not anodized ...to double check, use a digital ohm meter..........I used a wheel cleaner on my non-anodized Fikse wheels and jacked them up headbang.gif

these are not anodized.

I thought the P21 may be a little harsh on bare aluminum and black paint. I've used it with great results on clear coated wheels before though.
