Replaced his plug with a new timecert. It's only blown out once, so far.
Okay I decided to change out my plugs. I was running lean & hot. Joe suggested a cooler plug going from a ngk 6 to an 8. So I pulled my plugs to replace them with the new ones. One came out a little hard. I thought the thread were buggered up as the new plug wouldn't start. Turned out there was a heliCoil/ cert in the plug. Anyway I went to the auto parts store & picked up a tap to clean up my threads. One of the guys called to tell me about the Heli coil. I do vaguely remember having that put in a while back. While at the autoparts store I picked up a new heli coil along with the tap I was getting. In trying to clean out the threads I failed to realize I got a tap for the size of the plug . Which the tap decided to go through the hole I presented to it. Since it was bigger than the tap the tap went into my combustion chamber . Once again I turned a simple job into an enormous PITA. After multiple attempts with a magnet to grab & pull it out of the whole. I got lucky & was able to get it out . That was amazingly lucky . Put the new plug in with a cert & started it up. I was a little to tentative in cranking it down. So a ways down the road it blew out. Actually it backed itself out. While a little freaky it was no problem. Other than burning my finger on the hot plug anyway . The rest of the drive went well. My car still runs on the hot side of things. Need to do some more adjusting.
The 2 downsides with it all. Making everyone wait on me . Second was I had Jim come down who is considering buying the LE. Not exactly a strong selling point having issues
Another classic 914 event for Mr Rust
I was surrounded by jackasses everywhere I went....

What happened here?
I like how you lined up the RT-66 reflection on the car, John
We need to get enough cars together to 'spell out' 914 and see if LaMonica will take you up in his whirly-bird to snap some aerial shots
The stopped traffic did make for a good spot to stretch the legs and I got a pretty good shot of the car.

Great pictures everybody! Inspired this morning to finish my car..
NARP's in Brazil!
How in the Fuch did you get a white long-sleeve, Eric?
My wife likes the [darker] brown shirt, John.
She would have preferred a v-neck, but the color made it OK.
Better late than never!!
DON'T HASSLE THE BURROS!

I was having breakfast in the hotel on Sunday morning and someone asked me about my NARP shirt and all the 914s in the parking lot. I told them I didn't know anything about those funny little cars and that NARP stood for "National Association of Railroad Passengers" ... I think they knew I was joking.
Nelson, I'm a little surprised that you didn't know that NARP also stands for "Nuclear Accident Response Procedures"
National Association of Racing Professionals. (According to my mail man).
Narcissistic Association Recalcitrant Pricks
Are we gonna have narpotics officers, too? If so, I vote for Joe Sharp as the "High Sheriff" of Narpville.
