like the title says, what do you guys carry for spares in your daily driving? i try to travel light, but i think i have all the bases covered.

share what you carry.

heres my list,

1. a pair of thin coveralls.
2. hazet tool kit (from an old car)
3. the little black bag.
3a. varies 3/8 metric sockets
3b. 3/8 ratchet
3c. little cresent wrench
3d. tie wraps
3e. roll of black tape
3f. little bit of tie wire
4. clutch cable
5. throttle cable
6. oil pressure sensor
7. points, condenser, cap and rotor. (im running a petronix..but you never know)
8. clutch tube repair kit
9. the little plastic chingus on the end of the clutch cable to clutch throw out arm.
10. the little pin chingus for the clutch cable pedal end (it was cheap- what the hell)
11.fan belt
12. little mag light
13. 2 round relays (tested)
14. lug wrench
15. spare tire
16. stock jack (perfect for my lowered car)
17. bike chain (in case i have to chain it to a post or something)
18. dozen fuses (reds and whites)
19. 1 qt of oil

things i know i need to add,

spare fuel pump (facet)
various lamps (maybe a brake, turn signal, running lamp)

Nice setup!

I've got a 16 bulb spare set & an 8 or 10 OEM fuse set (IIRC there were 3 or 4 amp sizes) as a back-up - which you mention both, but that is a more complete set

Also add a red fuel pump relay & one for headlights & TS (unless they're already new).

PP/Automotion/Ecklers, AA, Pelican & maybe others also sell them.

Also make sure you have a good transaxle to chassis (under R trunk) ground cable with good connections, so that you won't need the acc. or clutch cables!

Assorted basic tools
CV bolts & matching tool
i have a space saver wheel/tire, but only would bring for a theoretical long trip.

AAA 100 mile towing card.

My add...

1- small flexible/spongy nail file from a local Walgreen's/etc, corrosion tool
2- small collapsible travel toothbrush in case, corrosion tool
3- you should use alcohol to clean corroded contacts and pins, 91% preferred. But, in a pinch or road emergency you can use that alcohol based gel hand sanitizer - make certain it's a small bottle of the generic/no smell/no color/less chance of heat related fire as well
4- a couple of broken off pencils with good erasers. The erasers clean flat copper electrical traces so they sparkle, and it doesn't hurt the contact conductivity either
5- spare wiring harness - just kiddin

being towed sucks.... the last time i had to have my oval towed, i got into a fight with the tow truck driver and he left me and my wife and kid on the side of the road. that was after we waited for an hour for him. he got pissed cus he wanted to hook the trailing arm and i wouldnt let him. he told me not to tell him how to do his job. but its my friggin car . anyways... a friend brought me a fuel pump and we were able to drive it home.

i have the aaa 100 mile tow also, but that is for catastrophic failures. i was just adding the clutch tube repair kit to my spares and was wondering what other guys carry.

towing is the final option for me. i try to keep my car clean and top shape. most of the time i can slip on my coveralls and have it fixed in minutes....instead of waiting an hour for the tow truck.

hmmmm? a small test light maybe..... or better yet, a cheapy multi meter.

AAA card and a Visa - I know it's cheating. Also fuses, zip ties, plugs, belt, relays, a full tool kit, jack, fix a flat, and a couple of LEd flashlights

I have a pretty extensive set of stuff that I take on long trips, but for eveyday around town, Nothing. Not trying to be a smartass, I just have that much confidence in my car.

yep, i have complete confidence in my car also....i drive mine back and forth to las vegas every week. its about 600 miles round trip. you have to be confident to take an aircooled car thru the blistering/freezing desert like that.....but it is still there- the what ifs.

LOL. 600 miles qualifies as a long trip for me. My around town stuff may consist of only 4 miles a day from home to work, lunch and back, and work to home. If I breakdown on the way to work, I can coast to the shop.

Since the car is really too low to get under, and my fuel pump is under the tank... Just my AAA card, some fuses, and a couple of relays. I do have a couple of screwdrivers to tighten something up too.
