914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Green car out of the Garage

Posted by: dinomium Apr 13 2012, 09:52 PM

I am back... I have spent a couple of days working on the my 914 and have come to the conclusion that my knuckle busting days are behind me. Not sure if I want finish it or just put it back together and list it. But what is worth?
All kinds of goodies on the car:
1971 914 1.7 (not in car) 2.0 in car with duel dell' orto carbs
Stainless Steel fuel lines in tunnel
Koni Sport shocks
Updated a arms with tabs for swaybars (no bars installed)
Updated strut housings
new ballpoints
Turbo tie rods
stainless flex brake lines
Fuchs with Yokohama ES100
Momo steering wheel and shift knob
Rennline Aluminum floorboard
Jwest Driving Light flash
Engman fuse panel
Alpine CD player with iPod conection
Morph kickpanel speakers
power amp
city light front turn signal kit
Yellowstar Hella bulb headlights
Optima Battery

Non rusty longs
needs paint and some weatherstripping

Also I am selling all the back stock of parts with the car too.

I will be sad when it is gone, but it is time. The car needs to be driven not sitting in a garage getting dusty.

when I read the list of parts, I start to think I should sell em off one group at a time...

Posted by: dinomium Apr 14 2012, 11:45 AM

just needs a supply side fitting on the gas tank and a fuel pump to be driving again. If somebody makes me an offer that is reasonable, they could have the car, the old 1.7 and all of the spares. My knuckles hurt to bad to play guitar. That is demoralizing!

If you'd just learn to walk upright your knuckles would take a lot less abuse. monkeydance.gif

If you want that fitting drive your new Merc down here & pick it up.

Posted by: dinomium Apr 16 2012, 11:20 AM

I haven't really priced it out, but if somebody came in with $2500 to $3000 they could have the whole shooting match! That would be car, spares and bits and bobs...
Not sure if that is wishful thinking though. Most likely I will put the car back together (again) & sell it. Then try to sell the parts and scrap the rest.

Gotta figure this out, but I am VERY interested. Anybody in PDX got a trailer I could borrow?

Posted by: effutuo101 Apr 16 2012, 05:29 PM

Dino, you will hate yourself if you sell it. Fix it, drive it and then make a decision. Rich has the parts!

Gas tank is back in the car and it even ran for a bit. Might have to fix it up a little more now.
A drive might just happen.

So...are you going to keep it or sell it?

Posted by: dinomium Apr 25 2012, 11:01 AM

I would like to sell it. In my trade of Real Estate, we would call it a pocket listing. As I repair it the price will go up since the person that really wants it sold isn't doing the work dry.gif

As long as I have the car, I dont have to clean my shop

Posted by: dinomium May 16 2012, 02:05 PM

since we are all back on line (well those who play well with others anyway) Thought I would update the status. The car is definitely going on the market. I would like to have somebody from our group get it so I will be posting a classified sometime this weekend. If you are seriously interested, PM me and we can open discussions...

Posted by: dinomium May 20 2012, 03:09 PM

went for a spin around the neighborhood for the first time in almost two years. Clutch needs adjustment, brakes are still soft and I miss power steering! Anyway it was a good drive in the rain...
