Plan on turning this sweet POS (71 914-4) into my next track car/fun drive to work.
I'm pretty seasoned when it comes to and I think I can too. So I'm going to need all kinds of help from this knowledge bank.

Looks like you might have a decent car to start with. Welcome and post some more pictures of that car.
Looks like a good start!
So the teardown has been moving along. I have to say this car is kind of scary that it was on the road.

Why the holes? Under the sub mounted out side the drivers cabin?

Making room for the cage was admittedly fun.

Thanks for the Welcome and yah I feel its a good base to build from.
Welcome! I think I'd be tempted to driver 'er a bit just like that. Flat black paint and all. Looks kind of menacing to me. Kool!
Oh I took it around the block a few times and on the freeway once until I found the rear drive side break caliper was under the front deck lid.

Looks like a fun project, show us more pictures of that ford
I wouldn't worry too much about the 'holes' in the front trunk floor ... possibly had an A/C condenser ... or, a PO that planned for (or had) an eternal oil cooler mounted down there?
I'd be more concerned with the L/R caliper in the trunk
Looks like an excellent project car
EDIT: Leave it painted the way it is, and get license plates that says 'POLCAT'

That's a good one. Nice that you have a sense of humor
Very cool. I agree that the flat black looks menacing. With that body you need more cylinders!!
No 5150 here. its strictly voluntary, Welcome to the psych ward.
I like to think of a 914 like a lego set for big kids
endless parts, configurations, and creative potential
You can follow build guidelines and go classic, or go bonkers
A bit more expensive than legos though
