listened to him on stern recently, maybe a month ago or so. he sounded really rough, depressed. I guess his kid(s) were giving him a hard time right up until his death. his mom sounded like a real nice lady too.

Just wanted to pay my "respects". The world is now a less enjoyable place without him, very sad.

He will be sorely missed.... Even though some of his movies we not that good you just couldn't help but laugh. A true talent indeed.

I didnt know he was that old. It is a tragic loss. Indeed, a great comic is gone.

just passed the Laugh Factory on Sunset Strip, the signs read
" With all our love and respect Farewell Rodney Dangerfield"
He's kept me laughing ever since I was a kid , watching the Ed Sullivan show !! aktion035.gif

Saw him in Tahoe. Laughed til it hurt.
Favorite clean Rodney joke:
My wife is a bad cook.
How bad is she?
Last time she started cooking the flies got together and fixed the screen door.
She is such a bad cook, we do our prayers AFTER we eat.

RIP Rodney

Clean jokes ? I liked the realtor that sold Rodney the home in the Bronx , complete with two views: Up and Down...or the special at the Italian restaurant: Broken leg of lamb sad.gif

I get no respect,
This club is bad,
How bad is it?
The dressing room is so small I have to go outside to change my mind.

If the hottie in this pic was his wife, I can't blame him.

He's got all my respect!
We'll miss you Rodney! wavey.gif

The behind the scenes part of the special edition Caddy Shack has some really neat interviews with the cast. It turns out that this was Rodney's first movie ever, though he was already considered a legend by the other comedians in the movie. So everyone showed up for his first scene to watch him do his stuff. Rodney was throwing out his best stuff and was starting to freak out since no one was laughing. He thought he was totally tanking in front all these esteemed collegues! When the director finally called, "Cut!", everyone fell to the ground rolling in laughter. Rodney didn't realize that you can't have laughter during a take or it'll ruin it and you'd have to start all over.

Some classic Caddy Shack Quotes...

QUOTE
- Hey, doll. Could you scare up another round for our table over here? And tell the cook this is low grade dogfood. I've had better food at the ballgame, you know? This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it.

QUOTE
- [to his Asian companion] I hear this place is restricted, Wang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish, okay?

QUOTE
- Your a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

QUOTE
- Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? Oh, it looks good on you though.

I wasn't going to share this, but since there seem to be a lot of great Rodnay fans here I thought I would go ahead.

I received this in an email on Monday from Joan, Rodney's widow:

QUOTE
Rodney has developed some complications deemed too severe for any possibility of recovery.   The doctors predict he will pass away by tomorrow morning.

Joan

Rodney was living at death's doorstep for quite some time. He knew it was going to happen and so did Joan. So, it was not unexpected and they were prepared.

It's still tough. sad.gif

I almost cried when I heard about it on the news last night. sad.gif I called my mom and told her too.

I really liked him in the movie "Ladybugs". He played a soccer coach for a children's soccar team and had a teenage son. It was hillarious.

Wish I could have saw him live. But he will always make me laugh. laugh.gif I bet heaven is cracking up! Don't be suprised if its starts raining from everyone up there laughing so hard! biggrin.gif

RIP Rodney.

I'm having a Twilight Zone moment... I was just finishing reading his autobiography when I got the news of his passing. unsure.gif He concluded his book in a very macabre way too sad.gif
