914World.com _ 914World Garage _ D&G swap buy/want list

Posted by: bondo Oct 7 2004, 04:25 PM

I often go to swaps looking for something only to have people say "I have 4 of those at home, but I didn't bring any". I figure we can list things we need and have for sale here, to make sure we bring what people need, and people bring what we need. Since there's talk of a sawzall party, we can make a wish list of neded body parts too. So here's my info:

I need:
Passenger side door (late style)
Passenger side outer door handle (not perfect, but functional and cheap)
Seats (maybe)
All rubber seals
5 lug rear hubs
Clutch cable
228mm flywheel and clutch

I have for sale:
1973 1.7 with salvage title (I won't be bringing this unless somebody wants to buy it)
tan interior
bus 2.0 engine, complete and disassembled with pretty fresh heads
1.8 engine in unknown condition
pretty much every transmission part from a 914 or early 912 (4 speed)
SS 1.7 heat exchangers
2.0 heat exchangers
monza (I think) exhaust
rear trunk lid
entire front suspension/steering (4 lug)
used rear axles
several flywheels

Body parts I need from sawzall victim:

Drivers side outer sail panel, down to the door handle cutout

Is anyone bringing a spot weld drill bit? (I don't have one) I have alot of smaller misc things, and I'll check this thread before I leave to make sure I bring specially requested items.

Passenger side outer door handle (not perfect, but functional and cheap).......think so
Seats (maybe)...........yep
All rubber seals.......... lol2.gif lol2.gif lol2.gif lol2.gif
5 lug rear hubs.......... not me
Clutch cable............... have to look
228mm flywheel and clutch..........huh?

I have for sale:
1973 1.7 with salvage title (I won't be bringing this unless somebody wants to buy it)
tan interior............Is this the 15K car?

Body parts I need from sawzall victim:

Drivers side outer sail panel, down to the door handle cutout..........your choice of two, you bring the blades.

There, that narrows it a bit.

EDIT: damn,,, too slow

Posted by: bondo Oct 7 2004, 05:15 PM

Sweet, blades I've got. Now I just hope I can sell some of this stuff so I can afford to buy some stuff. smile.gif

15K car? As in miles or dollars? Either way, no smile.gif

(The car has a black interior, the tan interior came out of my current project. They're separate.)

$20. It's in good shape, but not perfect. It has a small amount of filler (evercote) on it, to fill a shallow (but fairly large) dent. Top is primered, bottom is delphi metallic green with some scratches.

same with mine... fatty dent, hammered close..and bondo'd over sad.gif .. thanks anyway man

Posted by: bondo Oct 7 2004, 05:51 PM

This one hasn't been hammered.. it's just a wide shallow dent, left unfixed it would just barely show up. I'll bring it and you can look at the underside and decide. (it's already in the van)

Anyone have a good front bumper pad? I'd hate to bend over and grab my ankles for the folks at Auto Atlanta or Pelican on my first "significant" purchase for my "new" 914. Those suckers are expensive, almost 3 bills!!! YIKES!!!

-916 rear end!!! Please
-more to come

I have a bomb ass rubber front end (actual shape is good, but it is painted). Make an offer.

Posted by: Joe Sharp Old Oct 7 2004, 10:05 PM

Scott: Thanks , I'll do that. Thanks.
With all the stuff everybody has to bring , this should be a great swap meet.
Bondo: What color of door are you looking for.
Joe

Posted by: bondo Oct 7 2004, 10:08 PM

Mike: Rubber front end? as in air dam?

Joe: Doesn't matter, but it looks like I've got the door taken care of now.

Posted by: Dr Evil Oct 7 2004, 10:13 PM

Royce,
nope, as in rubber bumper insert fot early model.

Reasonably clean headlight buckets that I can get the #$@%^!!! screws out of w/o dremmeling the screw slots sawzall-smiley.gif

Posted by: a914luvr Oct 7 2004, 10:43 PM

I need the interior roll bar pad that covers the rear targa latches. Most anything will do, but would prefer one with minimal cracking of course. Also looking for a decent set of fog light grills, front bumperettes, a wiring harness for the center console gauges and rocker panels that are fairly straight.

I have some good weatherstripping, a 2L f.i. system, a 2L monza muffler, sand blasted but uncracked windshield and much more crap; er parts that I don't take to Pomona anymore.

Don't forget to move your clocks back an hour the night before or that morning! wacko.gif

Posted by: Toast Oct 8 2004, 11:04 AM

I want brown cloth/velor/leather/something besides vinyl seat inserts.

And brown door panels that do not have the speaker hoes cut in them. mad.gif

I saw this on your last post also. I have a 2004 calendar that has the change happening on the 31st.

Posted by: bondo Oct 8 2004, 11:27 AM

My calendar has the 24th and 31st on the same square (I hate when they do that) and has a notation for daylight savings time and a notation for halloween in the box. I guess that makes my calendar useless for resolving the issue smile.gif

Posted by: phantom914 Oct 8 2004, 11:29 AM

Are you bringing your car to the swap? What exactly do you not like about the vette seats? I'm looking at seat options and from pics of yours I thought I might like the corvette seats. I've decided not to use a backpad, so backpad fit is unimportant.

I would love to be able to come down for the full weekend. It is nearly impossible for me to get out of work on a Saturday. (I work in a casino) I am planning on getting barf.gif next weekend so I can go racing with VARA. There is no way I can call in sick 2 Saturdays in a row.

I've got some things on my shopping list for anyone who's sellin' stuff:

Lug bolts

Center caps that will fit on Rivieras

Sun visors - they don't need to be perfect, just functional cool.gif

Window cranks - anything that won't snap after a week or two. <_<

Posted by: bondo Oct 20 2004, 10:29 PM

Bump and update! Things have changed, and here are my updated lists:

I need:

Euro taillight lenses
Seats (maybe)
All rubber seals
228mm flywheel and clutch (for late SBC)
Decent rear shocks
Trans gasket set
Black headlight surrounds

I have for sale:

1973 1.7 with salvage title (I won't be bringing this unless somebody wants to buy it)
bus 2.0 engine, complete and disassembled with pretty fresh heads
pretty much every transmission part from a 914 or early 912 (Including the H gearset)
SS 1.7 heat exchangers
2.0 heat exchangers
monza (I think) exhaust
entire front suspension/steering (4 lug)
used rear axles
several flywheels
Passenger side door (late style with repairs)
Door handle and ignition lock set with 2 keys (needs plastic parts that always break, no key to one handle, broken stud on other handle)
4 lug hubs (late)
Brown door panels in good condition with no speaker holes (I believe Toast wanted these)
2.0 MPS (appears good, bring a 2.0 to test it)

I no longer need any parts from the sawzall car.

Is there going to be a free parts pile at this swap? If so I have some parts to contrubute smile.gif

Heh, you should only tell ONE of us you need it if you're not going to be there.. otherwise we're all going to be fighting over the same one in order to buy it for you smile.gif And if someone shows up with a box of them you might get several w00t.gif

Posted by: skline Oct 21 2004, 12:19 AM

Now what would I do with that? I already have a couple of sets of those. I just want your car to fix up for Mrs. K to drive. It would be going to a good home. We will talk about it on Sunday, if you are still coming?

Posted by: bondo Oct 21 2004, 12:32 AM

Oh, I'll be there! I have a new plan for the salvage title 914.. Since nobody wants it (probably because it looks like hell) I'm gonna fix it up and make it look decent, then try and sell it. (and drive it with it's fun factor and good gas mileage in the meantime) I already replaced some parts and got it running MUCH better.

Posted by: skline Oct 21 2004, 12:36 AM

So its not for sale anymore? I guess I will keep looking then.

Posted by: bondo Oct 21 2004, 12:46 AM

It's still for sale, selling it before I do the work would save me alot of trouble.. I've just pretty much lost hope now. If I can sell it, great. But I'm not holding my breath. I definitely need to get more for it than a gasket set though smile.gif

Posted by: skline Oct 21 2004, 12:50 AM

I knew that, I was kidding, I do have a sense of humor. Sometimes. We will talk about it at D&G.
