I’m looking for suggestions and ideas for good items to keep in my 914, Sort of the ultimate supplement to the Factory Tool kit. This list could include anything from glass cleaning wipes to a spare jack that won’t cause spikes in blood pressure, spare fuses, extra cables? Etc. Someone one may have already put a list like this together or a similar topic may already exist on this site. I searched but didn’t find anything like it. If I missed it please point me in the right direction. As always I look forward to the “Worlds” unlimited knowledge. Just wandering what has proved useful to you.
Axles, throttle and clutch cable, bolts, water, oil, wire, fuses, wd40, duct tape, tools to change all mentioned. On long trips I also carry a full tool kit.
The #1 item I keep in the car is zip ties of assorted sizes. Also, glass wipes since my windshield washer isn't functional.
Although I did so in my own driveway (not a roadside), I once completed my throttle linkage with zip ties to last the ~5 mile drive to the mechanic.
Some good ideas. I'll post a compiled list with everything I come up with and everyones suggestions at the end for what its worth. I wonder if I can fill up both trunks.
i started a thread similar to this....lots of good info.

I carry fuses and the associated tools to change em out.
I second the throttle and clutch cables, you may not need them, but one of your buddies may!
If you're running the stock ignition, points, condenser, cap, and rotor.
CV bolt triple square, tarp to lie on or shelter from rain,
If you don't want to mess with a spare tire or need the trunk space carry a small 12V air pump and a Plug Kit with the glue, plugs and the insert tool. Fix flats with wheel still on car jacked up.
I carry a fairly complete tool box, test light, jumper wire, points and condenser, spare relays, V/C gaskets, Jack. Um, that's about it....
Credit card and a cell phone
Always carry a coat hanger and a roll of electrical tape.

Fuses,BCAA card(AAA),Phillips head driver,used to carry one green top too(bye,bye! )
I have a tool box with just about everything that will fit in it. Fuel hose, injectors, MPS. fuel pump, cables, relays, fuses, tire repair kit, and all the tools to repair everything. Ray
surprised no one has mentioned hex sockets / allen keys -- you'll need those to remove the pedal board (5mm IIRC) or install a backed-out cone screw (4mm).
On longer trips I have quite a few tools and spare parts in the trunk, some of them are:
-Socket set 100pcs WITH socket for CV joint
-Multimeter
-Jackstand
-Gloves
-Carpet piece to lay down on
-Bolts, nuts, washers
-Terminals male/female
-Tie raps
-Tape
-Fuel hose
-Fuel hose clamps
-Breaker points
-Condensator
-Ignition coil
-Spark plug
-Alternator belt
-Alternator relay
-Injection valve
-ECU
-Fuel pump
-MPS
-Resistor (potentiometer) that can replace any temp sensor
-CV Joint
-Engine oil
-Starter cables
-Nippers, knife
-Polygrip tonge
Still there is room in the front trunk to take some additional luggage!
