Another Weber Question:
i just got my new velocity stacks from CB-Performance (very nice product, actually) and i was going to put them on my 40 Webers.
Currently, i don't have *any* stacks on there and now i think i know why ...
the studs that come out the top that hold the linkage plate etc. are only about 10mm long (on the outside) and as soon as i put the stacks on, i don't have any thread left for the nut to grab!
so, i'm going to need longer studs, i think at least 20mm on the outside ...
anyone here who has 8 lying around or knows where to buy a set?
Andy
hold that thought. I just bought a new aircleaner set and have extra hardware.
If Greg can't help you with his extra parts, call PMO.
Rich at PMO gives excellent customer service. Google for his name or check Pano/Excellence.

If you need them in a hurry call pmo or cb, I have to catch a plane tomorrow, off to jersey sister is ill, and I'm traveling all week so it would be next weekend before I could firgure out what safe place I put them!!!??? Already did a quick search but my spare hardware supply is growing without any organization....it didn't leap off a shelf.
never mind!!! too thick, good news is I found them.
andy i had the EXACT ISSSUE.
i went and bought longer studs to fit the thicker carb bases, and put stacks and gaskets on. a local Hardwareplace had all mine.
good luck
Take your vise grips and grab onto the studs and back them out. Not a big deal.
Than use bolts to hold the stacks on. You'll need two length of bolts because the inside (or outside) ones bottom out in the carb body before they tighten up in the base of the stack.
Easy as pie. Been holding mine on for years
Paul
Yep, I used some Chrome Allen Bolts that came with my air cleaner setup from CB. I think it looks pretty good too.
