Hi Jeff,
The pier is in Rubicon Bay on the west side of the lake. Its a quieter, less commercial area of Tahoe.
You have my sympathies for the cost of straightening teeth for your daughters. There's no question that it's worth it for the kids and it's something that they'll always have - unless they get into a bar fight or forget to use a seat belt. Just hang on to your wallet.

Speaking of braces, it's good you're considering them and you'll be glad you had it done. You can always hand the bill to your parents. "Gee, Mom & Dad, here's a bill I found under the dresser and maybe you should take care of this ..."

I am very familiar with the area. I have a cabin in Tahoma. Don't get to Rubicon much though. My avatar was taken on 89 just north of Homewood.
I think I could deal with bar fight better than lack of seat belt as the cause for damaging their teeth.

Your place is quite close , ~4 miles I'd guess, and the PDQ market at Tahoma is a regular stop for us while we're there.
I've not had the 914 up there, though. There always seems to be too much stuff and people so it gets left behind.
We should consider a club tour from the Bay Area to Stockton, up Hwy 88 to Tahoe then return over Ebbetts Pass or one of those and back. It would be fun.

Yeah, Mike. You're right, I did win. And she's awfully good to me, too. 914's and the club are a lot more fun for me because she's interested in the car and the group. We have some good laughs over comments on the list, er, BBS, er, Forum (yeah, that's it!).

Aww, thanks. You'll be so happy once the braces come off. I didn't mind having them until the doctor overcorrected my teeth and had to re-correct them. That was fun. <_< How long will you need braces?

My teeth are/were crowded up front because my wisdom teeth were laying sidways istead of facing up. They did not appear crooked from the front view, but from behind they were overlapped.
My tooth enamel has always been thin, and now my front teeth have chipped and cracked (probably from years of eating lemons and biting my nails 
)
So, in order for me to fix my front teeth, I need them straighten. So, that is where I am.

Didn't know about the scales but the hats all weigh way under a pound, so no real need for one.
Also, I have ordered boxes from the USPO online but it turned out not to be the same size as I was getting from the physical PO. I was told by the supply hotline person that I've been using 'special sized' boxes. Who knew? Plus they say it takes a min of 10 days to receive the boxes and I haven't gotten them yet...

I can't find the link for the scales. I searched over and over on the USPS.com sight.
If you are a registered USPS.com user they probably sent you the info.
They are 3 scales:
1 lb
2 lb
4 lb
and they are stackable, so you can weigh up to 7 lbs. They are pretty simple, but they are ISO certified, so I trust their accuracy. Took about 4 or 5 days to get 'em.

Rigga was basically saying 'any' male tennis player could beat 'any' female player, and no one was very impressed that he was able to beat up on a 50-yr old ex-Wimbeldon champ.
enter Billy Jean King, on the top of her game, and Riggs, still full of hubris, said he could beat her too. didn't happen that way.
(but i suspect all 3 made a pile of money out of the deal ...)

I found out late Friday that my hats arrived Thursday. Daughter #1 already left for a trip so I gave my wife her's. Wife likes it a lot. I knew that daughter #2 wouldn't want one and she was relieved that I didn't get one for her. She just doesn't appreciate the 914. Daughter #1 arrived home late last night. The smile on her face when she saw it said it all. 
She is my 914 buddy!

NOT soon enough! It will have to wait until next spring now. We had trees to cut down, front yard to square away, 914-6 to build etc. But 95% of all that is done. First sign of warm weather, out come the paint cans!

But yeah, I wish I could afford 2 houses myself. I had some rental homes before my divorce(just re-married this year). Lots of work and I wish I could have held onto them.
