Not too complicated. Just be carefull and go slow, so you don't bend or scratch anything

I found the easiest thing to do is just give the replacement windshield to the buyer and wish him luck

for those of us that have found the trim loosening with a bead of what appears to be house caulk hiding being the trim, how does one, once the trim has been removed, put it back in the proper manner? i am using all of my restrain not to swear while typing this. however, i know it will be better once i put the trim back.... but now for that voodoo doll with the pin up the posterior...... :finger2:

I searched the archives over at PelicanParts and it seems that the clips for attaching the trim (and the spacers for making sure the window sits correctly in the frame) have to be put on while the windshield is out. This is why I put off the windshield project today, I don't have the clips and it's too much work to do it incorrectly.

So no first hand experience but that's what I heard.

Here's one theory from an owner who has trim which keeps popping loose from the clips (new clips and new windshield installed by PO. I tried some caulk to hold it in too). I think my seal is slightly too thick, causing the windshield to be a little too far away from the body. That prevents the trim from locking tightly into the clips. Only solution will be to remove windshield and reinstall with a thinner seal. Anyone agree? disagree?

The trim is hold by the clips, so yep, that could very well be the cause.

Get some new clips before you take the windshield out.
They're cheap and it'll speed up your reinstall incase you break any of the clips that are in there now...
