Ok, tomorrow I change my oil and I'm going to take the oil strainer cover off for the first time. When I put it back on...do I use any gasket sealer on the new gasket or just put it on dry and torque? What do I torque it to?
I'm also installing a new temp sensor...I can look up into that little hole on the cover and see that the insides of the sensor are missing! So, when I remove that cover (I have a new seal)...do I put any type of sealer on that? What should the torque settings be for the new sensor and then the cover bolts?

factory does not call for any sealent but others may give advice based on their experience. be careful with the nut on the strainer! particular to typeIV engine. verify torque and be advised that over torquing can ruin the engine case.
are you referring to head temp sensor or oil temp sensor in taco plate? i suspect that since you're under there, it's the taco plate. the wire to the sensor is a spade connector so you might be able to just reconnect the wire. if the sensor wasn't there, the oil would be able to leak out. if you're talking about the temp sensor in the head... do you have FI or carbs? (not needed for carbs)
I'm talking about the oil temp sensor in the taco plate. And literally the inside of the sensor is gone. You can see the outer bolt...and the deep insides of the "brass?" rod that probably pokes in the oil (so..i see insdie a cylindrical shaft). Literally the spade connector..the insulator..and whatever is inside is gone!
