914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Pad under the rollbar

Posted by: StratPlayer Jun 11 2012, 02:16 PM

Need to get the rollbar pad off the rollbar. I have all the screws out of the rollpad, screws in the bottom and the screws that are in the front of the pad. The pad won't budge, Is there somthing I'm missing in this process of removing the pad?

This is the pad that is under the rollpad.

The side pads have to come out, too. Make sure there aren't "extra" screws in there. I think I remember the holdowns need to come off too.

That should do it, along with a good yank, starting on one side. I had mine off a coupla weeks ago. You may need to remove the latches first...

If you don't have a screw for every hole then you skipped one. They can be a PIA to "feel". beerchug.gif When you have them all out, it removes out easily.

There may also be screws in the top where the targa latches are. They were small, but a PITA if I remember correctly!

I read that the latches have to be removed first and installed last.
