I think that's what it's for, but, you don't have too do it that way. I ran my speedo and clutch cables and used some zip ties to secure them away from the engine and from hanging low.

They both will fit there but I always run the clutch cable through there and the speedo cable above it and tie them together with ties. If you run the speedo cable first you can put the clutch cable through also. Its up to you just make sure they are not against or near the exhaust.

All the above is true. Just make sure that you use heat resistent wrap or use tie wraps to keep the cables off the exhaust. I'm using headers and it takes some creative tye wrap work to keep the cables from melting.

Your clutch cable should have a rubber sleeve on it about 8" long. That sleeve goes thru the hole in the engine mount bar. It takes up the entire hole, and holds the cable securely in place.

I was in my local P-car shoppe today and they had a new 8mm cable hanging on the wall. The sleeve was only two inches long. wacko.gif

I just went out to the garage and measured the one on the Sahara Beige 914 and sure enough, the enlarged sleeve is approximately 2 inches long.
