914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Charcoal Canister Mounting

Posted by: ChrisVCR Jul 1 2012, 09:54 PM

Hoping to find some pics of stock 1.8 L-Jet motors so I could see how the canister is mounted. Mine is hanging loose inside the engine bay. It's connected and functioning but is just sitting loose. Any ideas or pics of how it should be properly mounted?

Thanks!

If it's a '75, then it hangs off the side of the battery tray. There's a few good threads with photos on this topic. Search is your friend.

I should have put that mine is a '74. I did do some searching first (I hate to get flamed) but was unable to find a nice stock motor pic. so was reaching out. I'll keep searching.

Was '74 mounted the same way as the 75?

My '75 was originally attached to the battery tray hold down bolt with the bracket pictured below... smile.gif

It depends, mine 4742912244, has it mounted on the back passenger(Trunk) wall on a welded stud. Some later ones had it mounted on the battery tray.
