914World.com _ 914World Garage _ "When Good Tires Go Bad"

Posted by: GWN7 May 13 2003, 12:40 AM

The tire in front used to be the same size as the one the car. It grew about 4"

Doing 70 we heard a noise, looked back to see rubber fly up behind the car and the semi behind slow down. Car was still riding at the same height, so I waited till the next exit to pull over.

Note the new "customized" rear fender.

They are: Generals XP2000II P195/50R15

They looked like they had about 50% tread left. No cracks in them. Figured they would do for the ride home. Put the other one on the damaged side (figured it couldn't hurt anymore). No problem with it, but it and the other 2 are going to be recycled.
