I think the copper work hardens...
from all of the vibration

usually when copper tubing is used (in a house) it is stationary and not subject to the vibration of a moving vehicle.

I would like to give you as much support as possible! I'll see if I can work on the poster and perhaps T-shirt too in my spare time.

You don't have to have a 914 to show up!

Bring your family and friends!

Thanks for putting this together Carrie!

So, I sent out over 100 pm invites to people in OK, AR, KS, MO, and DFW/East Texas that I could find in my 4hrs + of digging through the site.

Now, if you did not get one, that does not mean I'm deliberately snubbing you or anything else. You are still most welcome to come and show up.

Excited for this! Its a long drive, but it will be worth it. Anyone up for carpooling from the Michiana/Chicago area?

-Ross

Posted by: kerensky Aug 7 2012, 09:18 PM

Anyone coming from far away should try and plan a trip across Talimena Drive, either on your way in, or out. It's fairly close and has been the subject of a previous MUSR or two (which explains why it's *not* on the agenda for the official MUSR this year)

Personally I won't know for awhile whether I can make this one. Fall is horrendously busy for me. :*(

Posted by: MBowman325 Aug 8 2012, 06:32 AM

I'll be a tentative yes for this.

Carie,

I will donate a rebuilt pedal set. I found it best to sent it direct to the winner.

The winner from the last MUSR just contacted me to cash in on the pedal set he won.

I ask for a core pedal set returned.

I will be bringing my kits and some hardware to MUSR.

The Terms will be Cash and PayPal.

Oklahoman's are restricted to Cash Only and everyone else can choose how they pay.

The best thing to do would be to browse my website at your leisure and write down what you want and the material you want it in. Yes, the 911 & 356 kits count too! Email me the list or PM it to me. I will set aside those kits and bring them to MUSR with your name on them.

Last day to cancel or modify what you want is Oct. 1st.

I have a question.

Do you say MUSR by saying each letter out loud?

As in " M - U - S - R"?

Or do you treat it as an acronym and pronounce it as it reads?

As in "Musser"?

Or what aboot "Mooser"?

confused24.gif

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask such a question, but I have just been wondering that.

Okay thanks.

It's either M - U - S - R or Musser-
It's definetly not Mosser!

Okay! smile.gif Now we are getting somewhere. Thanks to Ken and Thom.

So really it seems that the consensus is that no one wants to have to go through the laborious process of pronouncing each letter individually. It could be quite tiring, especially at the event itself or discussing it at a later date. We need to streamline things, and, if you terrific MUSRs don't mind my assistance this is a bit of a specialty of mine. After penguins and Bugs that is.

So M-U-S-R is a definite NO. No one shall refer to this event henceforth in such a manner. smile.gif Well decided folks. thumb3d.gif

Mosser is also a NO. That being with a short "o" sound.

Soooo, it is down to MUSR pronounced Mooooser. Which I quite like. smile.gif

Orrrrr, MUSR, pronounces Musser. Which actually is a word already, applied to Grandmothers or Aunts who, when seeing you for the first time in a long time tend to "muss up" your hair in a friendly, loving manner.

Hmmm, this second pronunciation has it's own built in depth and effect, how great is that!

I guess it really should be up to the attendees.

Don't devote too much time to it.

But it should probably be brought up as dinner conversation at some point this weekend in each of your homes.

Really there is an opportunity for you folks here. To have an event with a proper acronym. Not like the WCR "Wicker!?!" how lame is that? Or RRC? Erc just salivates over that one. And let's not get started on the ECC! That is no way to name a meal!

Really cool mugs Carrie! Great job getting this all together!

Got the shirts tonight. The early previews didn't even nearly do enough justice. biggrin.gif

If we can get the Live Event Uploader going, somehow pics will show up.

If you seriously want one (shirt or mug), contact me Saturday afternoonish/evening. The local PCA chapter wants to pick me over on Sunday at the races. I will know if there is anything left on Monday.

I'll be at the Club Race @ Hallett this weekend. Will be looking for the 914 crew to show up Sun. I'll pick up a t-shirt and mug if there are any available.

Hope it's a success and good weather for the event. Sun. looks really good and cold.
I might be able to hook up with the crowd Fri. for lunch on my way through. If so, I'll call Clay to see where everybody is..... driving.gif driving-girl.gif beerchug.gif

What time does 914 racing start on Sunday? I'll try to drag out in time for that. Not really a morning person, never have been and it use to kill me to have start speedskate races at 6am. I would blow all the races until I woke up then I smoked my group mates. smile.gif

Eh.. we're fairly off the beaten path from 412/1-44. We are at Lake Tenkiller on the south tip. biggrin.gif The group is going to decide where to eat on Friday.

We had a great time year. Excellent tours, food and group. The tech quiz was (mostly) enjoyed and everyone liked the tech session who intended. The car show was Outrageous. The DFW crowd were like kids in a candy taking pictures of the hail. biggrin.gif

Dennis got the big award again this. I can't remember between today and last night how many times his name was on the trophy.

Clay got 2nd place in the Modified 6 & 8 category and he won the Dirtiest Engine Bay award.

Betty won 1st place in Stock 4 and got the Best Daily Driver award for the ? times now.

Travis got 1st place in the Modified 4 category and his wife got 1st in the Stock 6.

Richard got 3rd place Modified 6 & 8 category with his 350 Chevy and his Aubergine paint.

Dennis (of course) won 1st place in the Modified 6 & 8 category.

Tim won 1st place in the non-914 category in his nice 911 that gets 26 mpg.

I won 1st place in the Female Participant Tech Quiz by over 10 points (I didn't answer all the questions either. To busy bouncing in between that and picture taking happy11.gif ).

My Dad got 4th place in the Male Participant Tech Quiz.

Go bug Clay if you really want to know the rest of the award results. happy11.gif

Okay! smile.gif Now we are getting somewhere. Thanks to Ken and Thom.

So M-U-S-R is a definite NO. No one shall refer to this event henceforth in such a manner. smile.gif Well decided folks. thumb3d.gif

Mosser is also a NO. That being with a short "o" sound.

smile.gif

Does this mean that an upper case O has a different sound? blink.gif
And for the record, poke.gif I believe MUSR might be Latin which translates into
"Everyone forgot their camera".
