Quite a time ago I bought an early 911/912 "Butterfly" horn button in bad condition.
After disassembling all the parts I decided to completely restore it. So I got the parts to a guy who did the sandblasting and knew other guys that could paint the big main part as well as newly zincplate the other parts. The chrome ring got re-cromed by another guy. Found new rubber horn cuffs at Stoddard (Ohio) and a new leatherette pad at a dealer in Mexico. As a new padding (underneath the leatherette pad) I used a part of anti-static foam from the electronic part shipping
well, here's the result:
Gustl
That looks like new! Are you going to put it in your six?
not sure yet
I will also to the same to the original 914 horn button as well as to a GT horn button
then I will take the decision which one I like best
maybe I will change it every year ... who knows
Stunning.
Nice
Nice
Nice!
Is the pad leatherette...or leather?
