Car on blocks...

I put gas to the fuel rail today and one of the injectors is not working.
Any suggestions on getting one unclogged?

I guess I need to swap them around and make sure it it the injector.

If it's clogged with varnish buildup you can send them to witchhunter and have them cleaned. You might also be able to find a local place. Here in San Antonio there is a place called fuel injection specialists that can do it cheap. If it's stuck to where it's not pulsing you can hook it up to a 9v battery to free it up.

I suspect it is just dirty or varished.

How do you do the 9 volt thing?

Just connect the battery terminals to the injector. Do not leave it connected. Only pulse it. Put a hose on it and blow through as you connect the battery. You may be able to clear it if clogged. You might have to blow backward through it. You can try soaking in lacquer thinner before you blow or send them out to be cleaned.

I had the same issue on three of mine. Mailed them to Mr. Injector, and got them cleaned, painted, and new fittings for $16 each.

Disconnect your Ignition, remove all injectors, keep them connected and start your engine. The Injectors must work.
If one or more is not working, change them against each other. To find out if the ignitor is damaged or if you have an electric problem.

Just my two cents worth on some successes I've had. I use a battery charger (don't use your car battery, too much current too easy to arc and spark), never thought of using a 9V, I'll keep that in mind.

Also, I use brake cleaner and fill up the injector, pulse it with battery while using compressed air (I use about 30 psi) on the fuel inlet side. Repeat several times. If you put a paper towel under the injector you might be amazed to see the garbage that can come out.

Certainly not professional cleaning but I've revived injectors on various cars and noticed improved performance.
