So...Imagine yourself in the 914 garage with your 914 buds and budettes and post your responses to the following unique-to-model year 914 prompts:

1970?
1971?
1972?
1973?
1974?
1975?
1976?

For me it would be something like:

1970 - Wedgie rear bumpers
1971 - ???
1972 - The Last 914/6
1973 - 2L Fuchs introduced
1974 - The Limited Edition CanAm cars
1975 - Copper metallic paint
1976 - Vinyl tailpanel emblems

Bowslby,

There was a one-off factory 914-6 in 1975 or 1976, so your original 1972 question is not correct.

The 70 and 71 had the defroster vent in the middle of the dash and they both had the narrow rear view mirror. The fixed seat went away in mid 72 model year, along with the cut style rear bumpers. 74 was the only year for the LE and the grey covers on the headlight motors. 76 was the only year that the 2.0 liter was the only available option. 70 was the only year that did not have 914 as the first numbers in the VIN I think. There are lots of little things different about each year.

Wasn't a 'Factory' six...it was privately built as I understand it.
