I thought I read someplace that you can rebuild your half-shafts using Audi 5000 parts, 911 parts, and using the 914 axle. It said that the Audi and 911 parts were stronger. Anywho, does anyone have the “secret” recipe? I searched the forum and can’t find any thing. Just wondering.

911 axles are splined differently than 9144 axles, and the length, which is critical, may be different. Depending on which Audi 5000 you choose, the axles may be of a different diameter, and the CVs won't fit the 914 flanges. The lengths are waaaaay off, too. If you were able to adapt the CVs to the flanges, axle length again comes into play, and Audi uses an outer CV without a flange.
