Been looking with no luck. So what is the max, outside of tire to outside of tire using the GT flairs? Are some wider than others?
Thanks,Randy
Max outside of tire to outside of tire??? Could you rephrase?
What information are you seeking? What tires/wheels are you referring to?
Standard GT flares are also called 7"/9" flares, for obvious reasons.
The factory GTs ran that combination but used a 1" spacer in the front.
You can comfortably fit 8"/9" wheels under standard GT flares if you have the correct offset.
There were also 9"/11" GT flares available but today, you can only get FG replicas in that size.
You probably have guessed by now what size of wheels will fit those.
Again, the correct offset is important for proper fitment.
There's literally hundreds of threads on that exact same subject ...
I have 7/9 fiberglass flares.
8" wheels in front, 10" wheels in back.
I can't measure the outside sidewall to sidewall right now, but I will say there is less than 1/4" of clearance from the outer tire sidewall and the inside of the flare.
Good inner clearance with 4.75" backspace. 11" wide tire:
Rear outer fender to fender width is 71 inches.

Thanks.
I did not want to get into the rim thing. With thr offsets and spacer thing.
The out side lip of the fender was what I was looking for.
So, the steel GT flairs are not wide enough for me. I will be 70" front and 74" rear.
Could you weld on the GT's and then cut and fit a filler strip? Anybody out their tryed this?
Thanks again! Randy
I've seen this in progress at Mark's shop.
I bet he posts a picture.

Here is a photo of what I am working with.
Thanks much!
Best place to get flairs? The bird / AA / other?
Thanks! Another great link!
