I'm looking at a set of these on my narrow bodied car:
If you're running these, what size tire are you using?
Please let me know.
TIA
I ran P205-60-R15 on mine w/o issue.
The originals of those have a VW offset, so they can limit tire size clearance. My buddy's 71 in the pic below had them on since new from the dealer & he only has about 1/4-3/8" clear at the rear with stock narrow-body fenders (read not "rolled") using the stock 165R15s. I doubt that he could've fit a 195/65R15 or 205 size.
.
So I'd use caution with those wheels.
.
those are big differences in size. Are there different versions of the rim?
I've heard from others that the tire clearance varies from car to car on the 914's. There is a 3/8" tire clearance difference between my R & L rear sides. I/ve also heard that actual tire sizes vary from mfg to mfg. I only know of one difference in the DG wheels although there may be others. The 5th or spare rim has less "meat" on the backside of the ribs and is about a 1lb lighter than the others.
I ran 195/70/15's on my car when I last drove it on the street. Same wheels.
Were there different versions/offsets of these ?
I have them and 195/65/15 run on them fine. The rear tires/fender are pretty close but you can fit your fingers in there.
I've been wanting to get rid of mine but lately they're growing on me. They'll shine up nice and I like them with black center caps. I really hate the 65's though. 60 (even 55?) looks much nicer IMO.
195x60x15 I think they were all 5.5 wide for the 4x130 versions

195x50 on mine.
Had to roll the left rear fender lip to keep it from rubbing.
Both rears have about 1/2 inch of room now.
I ran 205 x 50' s with no problem. With205 x 60, I had to roll the fender.
Joe, bolt one up to your hub and see how much clearance you have between the rim and the fender lip. I'll bring you the other three wheels next week.
(this was posted using my new laptop)
Haven't tried it at the shop yet, but it's working great at home so far.
Thanks
