914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Pics to shoot for selling a 914

I'm going to be photographing a friend's car so he can offer it for sale. I've got a pretty good idea of what details a buyer might want to see, but I'd like to hear from you guys so I don't miss something vital.

- Rear trunk floor without any stuff in it
- Front trunk floor without any stuff in it
- Any overspray if present
- Karman tag on the door post
- VIN tag on the headlight bucket
- VIN tag on the windshield frame
- VIN stamp on top of the pass front fender

Just the rust. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wash it. Vacuum out the interior. Wet the ground under the car just before you shoot it.

Your first picture (the one everyone will see first) should be a glamor shot. 3/4 profile, lowish point of view.

After that, give pics of all 4 sides, interior, and usual problem areas (if you know them).

Or you can do what half of the people on eBay does. Copy and paste pics from Google image.

why do people wet the ground in for sale pictures.

I find that to be a turn off
a wet car shines better and hides flaws
when I see a wet car I assume it looks crappy and the seller is hiding something.

explain to me why someone would wet the ground?

Wet ground hides the oil stains. biggrin.gif

When I see the wet ground the first thing I think is that the seller only washed it because they needed pics for a quick ebay/craigslist deal.

Also makes me wonder how much water was left sitting in all the nooks and crannies.
