I was replaceing the Piston rings and this is what I found. There seems to be a lot of carbon build up on everything. The piston cylinders had the gaskets on them which is one of the many problems I have.
By looking at the pictures, do the jugs look like they have been overheated?
I also found one of the adjusting screws chipped on the corner.. WHat causes this?
Does painting the jugs black do anything?
Thanks,
BB

You had head leaks galore...
They look normal otherwise.
Carbon from oil coming past the piston rings for awhile. Seems normal to me. Clean 'em up, hone 'em and use 'em.
But make sure they are still round first and don't have a taper!
