914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Lost my Oil Filler cover

Posted by: falconfp2001 Feb 7 2013, 11:35 AM

Put a quart in like I do every three months this last Monday and discovered today that, confused24.gif the cover is missing. Must of had a senior moment wacko.gif

Does anyone know if all VW Oil Filler Covers work?

Thanks

Check your fan. All Type4 covers are the same. Type 1 covers do not.

That was my first thought. Hmmm, AA has them for 20.00 but I'll have to call and all Bug sites have type 1s.

Thanks

I don't see how you could have lost the cap unless you put it on the roof or hood and forgot about it.

Check the area in front of the fan.

At my age, everything needs a small chain attach to it so I will not lose or misplace it.
