Thinking about getting back into the coffee shop business after selling my shop about 8 years ago. When I had my shop I wanted to roast my own beans but at the time it was very costly to buy a roaster. Now they have very affordable roasters for small batch roasting.
Currently I am researching roasters, just wandering if anyone here has any experience with these small roasters.
Thanks,
Sean
We discovered Dutch Brothers on our vacation to Oregon this summer. They recently lost their warehouse and roaster to a fire that burned down the whole building. Maybe they would be interested in a secondary source?
Dutch brothers has excellent coffee, they roast there own. I am looking at something quite a bit smaller, and not in Oregon.
Come on there has to be at least one of you in the coffee biz.
One of the guys in the office has a son-in-law who is getting into the biz. He's been bringing in coffee for us to taste test for the last couple of weeks.
Apparently they have one or two roasters set up in their garage at home. If the taste of the coffee is any indication of the effectiveness of the roasters, I would say they work rather well.
I'll see if he can give me some more info on the equipment they are using.
