If I remember right the GT's had solid non-removeable roofs.
No.. you're thinking of the 916
I am not sure anyone will be able to tell if it is a "real" GT or simply one that looks like GT (except with the 916 front shell) without the VIN and knowledge of which VIN's were actually "real" GT's.
From what I gather, it is an overpriced flared 914 that appears to come with a 3.2 RSR motor???
From what I have read, the GT's had a light weight, bolt on roof. The 916's were supposed to have a steel roof welded in place (that would take a lot of fun out of the car IMHO).
You aren't actually thinking of bidding on that are you???

After all, if you were restoring a real GT, would you use a carbon fiber 911 style dash?
Or anything carbon fiber for that matter?
Or a 916 front bumper?
Or anything but an original engine/tranny?
Don't think so...
What about the claim he has aluminium rear trailing arms?
There's absolutely nothing in this ad that even remotely points to the fact this car is a real GT
So I seriously doubt it...
I think he should be very happy if het gets €30K
If the chassis is at least an original 6 and depending on who build the engine and exact engine/tranny specs
Geoff, nice try

Need to know the VIN, and any racing history. There were a lot of cars converted to GT's privately. A lot of them we don't know the VIN, but the racing history would help a lot. For that kind of price one would expect a fully documented history. I'd like to follow up on this for sure.
From what I can see, it does look legit. That is the reinforced roof. Hardly ever get to see photos of it in that position. More detail photos would help. It does look that it was an original six, but with all the work done to it anything is possible.
My undrstanding, although others are sure to know much better, is that the 914/6 GT had the fiberglass roof with some sort of steel reinforcement and fixtures that allowed the roof to be bolted to the frame at the four corners. As such, it would hav been removable, but only with the use of a wrench.
The 916, on the other hand, had a steel roof welded to the frame. From the outside, there was no break in the steel or the paint between the windshield frame and the steel painted roof.

Perfectly correct Michel.

That does not look like a GT roof. The GT roof looked
like this

I agree... GT's had cross-braced roofs as in the picture above.
