914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Long term 911 914/6 engine storage suggestions

Posted by: JmuRiz Apr 9 2013, 07:47 AM

I have a 1977 2.7CIS engine on an engine yoke for the past year or so (while I gathered up parts for my conversion).

Well, the guy that owns the yoke needs it back this weekend. What's the best way to store this engine for the next 6-months+ ? I still have the stand but won't have the approved yoke to attach it with.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry for the OLD crappy mobile phone picture, but I figured I'd post a picture of the engine for the first time on this board.

Drop it on a $10 furniture cart so it's easy to push around the garage.

Good idea, I guess if it's good enough for my trans, it'll work for the engine. Makes it easy to push out of the way when I need to get around it.

You can get universal yokes cheep from your FLAPS (Favorite Local Auto Parts Store)! I had my 3.0L-6 on a universal yoke engine stand for 5 years!
