Obviously, full frontal nudity is ok, but not really good for the forum and people who come here to see our cars. How far do you think we should go before calling it inappropriate?

I dont think they really matter, obviously we are all adults here, and if an avatar does indeed offend somebody, if the matter is brought up, most members will politely remove it. So I personally dont see any current problems...

I think it is important for everyone to realize where that line is. I noticed 2 people voted for the Naked woman tastefully done, the picture that comes to my mind is the one of the 1985 Porsche 944 with the blonde laying across the hood. She didnt show anything but you knew she didnt have anything on. I thought it was and awesome picture and someday, I will find that one again and hang it in my garage.

It is called the 914club garage and every shop I've been in had a snap-on calender or some other pinup hanging, why should it be any different here.
Nobody has put hardcore porn up AFAIK, so lets relax a little.
And the few women we have here must be pretty cool to even want to log on. I would be interested to know if they are offended.

The girlie avitars I've seen seem to correspond with the owners desire for a fantasy gurl and a fantasy 914.
In most cases the dudes have neither!

And for truth in advertising, it's simple -- I run with avatar's off. (and sure, this is perhaps a little disappointing to me -- I have in the past enjoyed some of the clever and artful ones!)
But, in the real world (or at least my work world), our avatars are not "work safe". (I'm guessing in some homes, they may not be "home safe" either.) But who cares -- at the end of the day, I have zero time to mess with such things. So they are off.
But to me it doesn't matter all that much -- I don't come here for the avatars anyway. It's 914 stuff baby! I occasionally turn avatars on if a thread is related, but otherwise, they are off.
So in my book, my vote doesn't really matter, since I don't look at them anyway.

I imagine that there's quite a few people that run without avatars "on" (I used to have dial-up too
......just kiddin' ).My present one is actually a Levi's jeans ad that I first saw in "People" mag while waiting for the dentist.
Personally, I think posting pics of any of my 914's in there present condition would be more offensive.....

My 2 cents worth. We are adults here right ? We should be policing ourselves. When Joe thought his avatar was deleted by an admin because of its content when it was actually another problem speaks volumes to me. If he automatically assumed it was deleted for content than he may have realized that it contained questionable content. I am just saying this without actually seeing the pic in question. If you think it might offend dont use it.
