Got my Christmas git early. They got it at Sams. It should be great for putting the engine in and out.

That's a cool one!
Looks like it aluminium too?
Yes it is. Its about half as heavy as my old regular floor jack.
I put the 1.7 on it so you get an idea of the size.

Hook up the transaxle and take another picture. . . .
That looks perfect.
How much?
I feel your pain! My spouse just peeked in and barked at me to finish setting up the "dining room" in anticipation of the arrival of today's honored guests.
Happy Thanksgiving!
My mother in law just showed up.
Funs over now.
looks great Larry, can't wait to see that 928 power plant on there or better yet in your car.
when do you get back from the left coast?
I like it. I've seen similar motorcycle lifts, but yours has a regular jack handle, which makes it a lot more usefull
Price is hard to beat too. No brainer!
So I have a question about this.
Will the full engine & transmission balance on this or is the tranny
too heavy and cause tipping?
BTW, they are only $109 at the Sams here in Dallas.

The center of balance is under the starter drive gear.

I wasn't too concerned about it being strong enough to hold the weight.
I was just wondering if would hold the fully dressed engine & tranny
by just puting the lift supports directly under the bottom of the engine case
without tipping since the CG is just behind the case.
Can you use only the lift directly or do you have to make sort of additional
cradle to keep things from tipping?
I'm seriously thinking of buying one, just want to make sure
it works as easily as I think it will.

i borrowed one of these from my buddy to take mine out and it worked no problem w/o using anything additional.
