914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Help Identifying a gear

Posted by: Jon H. Jun 5 2013, 08:11 PM

In anticipation of the good Doctors upcoming tranny clinic I have been cleaning my trannies and getting things ready for the clinic (trannies and clinics-the jokes are endless). Anywho...I recently picked up a 901 tranny and an additional gear stack that I have been able to identify as coming from a 912 ( I ran the #on the intermediate plate). I pulled the stack apart and was able to ID the following gears A, F, S and Z but the last one I'm not sure, it is either an M or a W, can some on please tell me which way the stamp goes?

Thanks,

Jon

Just count the teeth and look up the code that way.

Thanks! Good tip Dave, it never occurred to me to count the teeth. This is my first time digging into a tranny.
