OK - did all the searches, looked at Pelican review & the Club site too - no joy
Question - which is the better choice - GEMO or Terry?
update - and some measurements fyi
(i ordered both cables - Terry from Pelican & "gemo" fro AA)
the Terry cable from Pelican is 3.12 mm dia - coarser wire than the old oem cables, also coarser wire than the AA "gemo" 914-6 specific cable at only 3.02 mm
the AA "914-6" cable is "white bag" - only 3.02 mm
- no brand tag identifying it as a genuine gemo as i have received with other genuine gemo cables over the yrs - so who knows what it really is - china sourced is my guess
the older (branded) gemo 914-6 that cable i removed is 3.38 mm dia - - same finer wire as the AA "gemo", (ie, more flexible ?), and same length
the Terry cable is longer by 2+ inches, but can be worked with and barrel-shimmed to fit if necessary - see pics in my 2nd post below
Hussey's club site advice is GEMO (of course - he does not sell Terry)
Pelican now only sell Terry & there's just one review - negative - it appears the Terry is "universal fit"
( seems like i have the same failure issue the negative review discusses)
-have any of y'all had failures like i've described above?
( I know - all made in China nowadays - whaddya expect?)
TIA

GEMO for the 914-6...
The Pelican cable is to short and has the wrong end on it. Order one for the -6 from Patrick Motor Sports. I've seen one on a car but not installed one.
I'll second the failure rate on the Terry cables, although my issue was due to it fraying in the tunnel. An unsheathed cable running through a metal tube is going to rub/fray.
I've had my Terry in for years, no issues. I have a spare just in case
What I usually need is a throttle cable - I use Terry on that too.

note that i was about 2 clutch actuations from disaster - change the cable early Sunday AM (took about 2hrs) and sprinted for the SVR Concours - just made it in time to register
- would never have made it on the old cable which was giving up FAST - I had already adjusted it just before the NC show a week earlier - when i found only ONE broken strand - 70 miles later it was "almost gone" with only ONE strand left !
(good news is the car won in CSI - ) (also people's choice at NC foreign car show -
. one strand
