I am attempting to get my newly rebuilt 2 liter started and inadvertantly reversed the coil wires [electronic] and when I went to crank the engine got a loud pop! Looked in the engine bay and no sign of any damage.
Any thoughts? Did I destroy the coil?
I have an extra but it's a stock, not blue. Should I try it?
coil most likely but check points and condensor
No points/condensor...it's electronic
check the coil, iirc some of the electronic types ( petronix ) go bye bye when hooked up backwards
try the stock coil and hope for the best
Its not electronic anymore, if you had the wires backwards from the coil. you fried your electronics. Tune for maximum smoke I always say.
ahhh s--t! For shure? I guess that accounts for the rat tat tat tat now when I try to crank with the other coil...do ya think?!?
Hmm...I can always go back to my points for the break in.
Very important with electronic parts not to let the smoke out!
The smoke inside the parts is where the"magic" happens.
Believe I know all about electronic parts that have had the smoke released from them!
Lo Siento = I feel your pain...
Nananaaaaa, Naaannanaanaaa, hey hey....goodbye....RIP Petronix....
Really?...sounded like a gun shot! There goes $65.00 bucks!
There is nothing magic about ozone.
