914World.com _ 914World Garage _ New 1972 Porsche 914 -1.7L Fuel injected

Hey Guys.

I just bought a new 1972 Porsche 914 1.7L fuel injected, the previous owner let it sit for 2-3 years in storage... The Car looks great but isn't running very well, I can't get it above 50mph and it's a struggle to get it up to that speed. I have swapped out the plugs, plug wires and air filter and put some new Gas and fuel injector cleaner in the tank but the problem still continues... I was thinking it's time to replace the fuel injectors next... any suggestions on how to fix the problem, or has anybody else run into the same problems with their 914's.

Thanks

Mario

That site has a lot of good info about the D-Jet.

Also, check the tank bottom for rust. Flashlight through the filler neck will do and replace the fuel filter.
The injectors can be checked by letting them squirt into a jar.

Getting good fuel and spark is half the battle ...

First, adjust valves. Then set dwell. Then timing. Then drive it again and report back with the outcome.
