914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Driving without one rear swaybar link

Posted by: azbill Dec 1 2004, 11:34 AM

Some how I am missing the right rear swaybar link. Left one appears to be ok. I have been driving the car and taking the turns very carefully. What chancesI am taking? Does any have a drop link that they can spare?
Thanks

it's like driving w/out a rear sway bar at all, which is totally okay.

some people even prefer it.

You can drive as hard as you like without concern.
You effectivly have "no rear bar", because it only works when both links are connected. You are just carrying the wieght. DON'T WORRY!

Brad has us disconnect one side at the a/x and zip tie the link out of the way if the rear bar is too much for that course.

You may hear the occasional "THUMP" from the back of the car when you are going through a turn. That would be the unconnected end of the sway-bar whacking the trunk floor.

It didn't do any harm to my car that I noticed! And that was while autocrossing it, too! (Street tires, though--not sticky ones.)
