914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Fork this 901

[COLOR=orange][SIZE=7][FONT=Optima] I have an early '70 914 that locked up in reverse. I was told to drain fluid and see if roll pin broke. It did not. Another brother said the same thing happened to him in 4th. And that the forks are misaligned. Is there a easy fix or is this a hugh job. I bought this car four months ago to be a relaxation, but with the series of hellish events i've yet to ride in this THING. headbang.gif

Joe, Is this you? I assume you're talking about TLB.

Sorry I don't have any advice for you, but if you can't get it fixed easily, tailshifters are abundant and can be had for very cheap. I know Chad got like 3 trannys with his car and at least one is a tailshifter.

Just a thought. Good luck, we'd like to see TLB on the road some day.

Disconnect the shift rod at the rear end. If you can shift the tranny with a vise grip (This is a tail shift?), then it is not internal. If it is still locked, then something fubar'd inside.
