914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Pedal board template?

Posted by: jeff88ix Aug 4 2013, 07:55 PM

Anyone have a template for the pedal board? I don't have the original and would like to make one. AutoCad, .dxf, or ? pretty sure I can use most file formats.

Thanks
Jeff

Like a dumb a$$ I threw mine away. I probably won't install one now.

My scans didn't look too good. out of focus & cant get the whole thing.
how about Hires photos?
Can you convert them?

If you could make two nice reproductions from a superior material, I would send you my perfect board as a master.

Stu,

I was just planning on making a wood one, I think I just need a good tracing, something full scale. I could then make an AutoCad file that would be available to others.

Thanks
Jeff

I wouldn't do that as the board has a stop that limits the clutch (IIRC) return travel. I can't remember the details, but I remember not using one causes stress on a component that can lead to a failure.

Yeah, what happens is the cable (if not stopped) can be stretched and over time will brake. Same can happen with the throttle cable if you have it stretching at full throttle.

Thet component would be the clutch cover, AKA pressure plate.

Throttle stop is also important. You can damage the throttle body, break the cable or have it pull out of the clamp.

Why not just cut it out of aluminum?

Like this one. I had it cut at my local hydro-cutter

Ok, I have found an original to copy, Thanks Van!

I plan on making an AutoCAD drawing of it which I will make available to others when done.

Thanks everyone!
Jeff
