Just read where he is offering $100 for complete brake caliper cores. Perhaps "complete" is the operative word here. Con cuidado.
Posted by: rhodyguy Aug 9 2013, 12:20 PM
where did you come across this news? $100 per or a set? is "rebuildable core" contained in the fine print? do we get paid upfront and the buyer pays shipping? oh...can we charge shipping AND handling and impose a re-stocking fee?
Posted by: scotty b Aug 9 2013, 03:08 PM
I'd rather give mine to Eric for free
Or is it 100.00 per caliper ?

We sell lots of rebuilt calipers, and we don't get nearly as many cores back.

Front and/or rears?
Single and/or dual bleeders?
$100 per pair or $100 per each?
Waiting breathlessly for answers!

I have enough spare cores (front, rear, 911, etc.) that I would gladly trade for fiberglass bumpers.
How do we arrange that?

Its $100 a pair for COMPLETE REAR cores + your shipping cost to them.
Posted by: r_towle Aug 10 2013, 07:46 PM
I did a brake job on my sons previous mid 90's era VW passat.
The rear caliper looked really similar in size, shape etc, and had a mechanical ebrake just like a 914.
I never bothered to look hard at the swap potential cause it was a late night emergency fix for my son.....but I remember thinking that it looked like a bracket needed to be made for mounting, and then you could use center rear rotors...
Might become a solution as the available cores start to become more and more scarce.

If you shove a bunch of them in a flat rate box you could end up with some cash to spare after the shipping charge.
Send us your calipers and fuel pumps! Or send them to me for free and I'll sell them to George...

If you would prefer store credit for future purchases that is fine also.

My brake caliper cores go to Erc but I do have some fuel pump cores that have been laying around forever.
Posted by: 914werke Oct 16 2013, 07:51 PM
Is this deal (fuel pumps) a going concern or was this a "testing the water's" thing?
