Got my new relay from Pelican and in the comments section it mentioned it needed to be altered somehow before you replace the old original one with this new one. Does anyone know what needs to be done, I hate to install it and have it melt or blow a fuse or just not work at all.

Well, does it fit in the socket?
Are there 3 or 4 prongs?

Relays work like this.
Power comes in on one tab...on when lights are on
Power also comes in from the high/low steering switch.
Power goes out on probably two tabs, one is high to the lights, one it low.
Should be a ground also.

So, you click the switch, its a momentary power (for testing you will need a complete circuit to see this power)

That will connect power in to one of the two power out lines.

You can test what line goes where, or look at the wiring diagram for the color codes for low and high beam power.

Then, test you new relay.
Apply power to the trigger connection.
Ohm between the power in and power out of high low connectors.
One should show ohms, the other should not.

Typically they will have a diagram on the relay to describe each pole.

You need to add a jumper from terminal 56 to terminal 30.
