914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Oil leaking from exhaust port.

I just built a 2056cc engine with new piston and cylinders, and new valves and valve guides. I'm having a bit of oil leaking from number 2 cylinders exhaust port. Does this just mean that my rings haven't set yet after 200 miles? Or, should I be worried about something else?

I can't remember which rocker box tends to fill with oil, but jumping to the assumption that all is healthy with that valve guide/valve you could have a problem with draining oil back to the sump. I personally have experienced this on high rev'ing motors and like a few others before me have taken to increasing the breathing at the case and then blocking off the head vents. The idea is to create a low pressure zone at the case and a high pressure zone at the valve cover and "force" the oil back to the case.

Worth a try...
