Interesting...where do you sit? How do you steer it?

Posted by: JmuRiz Sep 17 2013, 11:07 AM

Wow, that has to be a sandrail or drag engine with those huge snails on there.

I'd love to see a dyno run on that motor. See how much power it makes and when it spools up.

I like the idea of a cross tube to equalize pressure.

Yes but when does it spool? The curve is as important to me as the peak.

And Dave gets points for being the first to say it - even if Woody's head exploded trying to get onto the board! LOL

The turbos physically look huge.. but what are the wheel sizes? Lots of newer tech have massive bodies but small wheels.

That said 6psi at 360hp? Thats a MASSIVE amount of power! Is it a 3L engine or something?

I would love to see a dyno here... With turbo's that big one would think you could only spool them really late. But Who knows what you spent here.... You could have some awesome antilag or variable wheel size turbos or something.

i think it's a t-4? cis? note the four hoses on the fuel distribution(or whatever the correct term is) box?

Posted by: nsr-jamie Sep 18 2013, 05:09 PM

Is that one of the old Bernie Bergman engines ? Looks very cool.

Making big power doesn't require twin turbos. This single TIV turbo made 383 on pump gas at 20 PSI boost. Ceramic ball bearing turbo made boost from idle right on up to 6,500 RPM.

Yes jake, but thats at 20psi... This one was made at only 6psi which is quite a feat for such large HP. Granted its a 2.8 engine so it probably made ~ 225hp naturally aspirated.

What turbo did you run with on that build Jake?

Posted by: Jake Raby Sep 20 2013, 09:08 AM

Its a full custom T3/T4 full ceramic ball bearing unit.

Its also a small engine with V2 Nickies cylinders and low CR of only 7:1 static. It operates in Saudia Arabia.

Can't turbo a 914.

Guess I'll have to take the extra bits off my car then.
