914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Ebay car

Posted by: skline Dec 16 2004, 12:08 PM

This car could be my new project. 8 days left in the auction, I really want this car. So if anyone else bids on it. I will be looking you up. JK, I am hoping to win this car for my next project. Interesting picture of the front trunk, can anyone tell me what this is? It looks like an electric motor with a flywheel attached to it like the guy was going to do an electric conversion on it. Wish me luck on this. something about that car I really like. I hope I win it.

that does look like an e motor....

What are ya gonna do? Another V8 project?

I agree, looks like an electric motor and a flywheel.

Posted by: skline Dec 16 2004, 12:13 PM

I want this car so I can build a totally stock driver. The Chalon will be the only V8 car and the only one with modifications. This one will be restored to all stock. Its pretty much stock now and I really like the look of it. Just a nice repaint and convert to side shift and rebuild the 1.7 in it and drive it.

Ok Scott, if you can identify what country the seller is from, you win! smash.gif

Posted by: skline Dec 16 2004, 12:26 PM

I am going to guess one of the middle east countries. Say it like he writes it and I bet I am pretty close.

On second thought...it looks like SLIT's vibrator....

Good luck Scott, keep in mind if it hasn't been reg. since 88 did they non-op? My cali ebay purchase had about $300+ back fees. I got around by using a title service place but I don't live in Cali.

Looks like a nice project.

Where is the ebay link? biggrin.gif

Posted by: skline Dec 16 2004, 12:33 PM

Since it has not been registered since 88, it would be off the computers. There should be no fees in California from the DMV for back registration. I will just have to apply for a new title. I may have to have the car inspected and stuff but that is about it. I have done it before.

I want help with the side shifter swap or I'm bidding on it too! agree.gif

Posted by: Porsche Rescue Dec 16 2004, 01:04 PM

I agree Scott, that car looks like a fairly unmolested original tangerine car. If it's not rusty it won't be hard to bring back. If you want it you should go to snipeswipe.com and use their free one-time offer (or subscribe) and enter the highest amount you're willing to pay. Then sit back and watch. Even if you don't do that, don't bid any more until the very end. You will just be bidding yourself up.

The engine is in but no tranny? That leaves only the engine bar.

So whats keeping the engine from just falling out, just the cooling tin?

Posted by: bondo Dec 16 2004, 04:11 PM

Whoo, if you get it I'll take the motor! (it's a GE series wound DC motor) I may even give you some money for it, or trade a few parts smile.gif

Posted by: Dr Evil Dec 16 2004, 04:58 PM

Scott, I can do a PPI if you want. It is with in 20 miles of me. Gimme oral hide-away or I'm bidding! biggrin.gif
