Hey Admims...you're good at deleting shit you don't like, so why not help a "member" and delete shit that interferes with his business?

Posted by: Eric_Shea Dec 16 2004, 01:38 PM

Now he's fuching with Sammy... he's all over the resource page. What a DICK!

And I've PM-ed Greg requesting him not to do that again

What's the deal, joined today, he's all over the resources section. I think I will send him an email

This certainly doesn't help their already tarnished rep here.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now wink.gif

If you have any other trouble, please PM me (or another admin) and we'll deal with it

He would have been on my alfred list. alfred.gif

Posted by: Eric_Shea Dec 16 2004, 02:08 PM

I say we leave him here. He can only do more harm to their "Sterling" reputation.

Greggy-Pooh. Tell George that I still have the (wrong) heater cable he sent me back in 1982. Right in the top of my tool box to remind me of your "God-Fuching-Aweful" customer service.

Phone call upon receiving the wrong part:

Me: I just got my order and there seems to be a problem with a cable I ordered. It's not the right cable.

GFH: We shipped you what you asked for. You ordered the wrong part.

Me: Ohhhhhhhhh... OK. Nice knowing ya.

I think it was all of $4.72. I'm certain that I've spend more than $30,000 ELSEWHERE since then.

Leave the dickhead on the board so we can flame the shit out of him and let everyone know about their FU'd business practices.

Greg... George... Love ya wub.gif

Hey Treadhead finger.gif

Posted by: Root_Werks Dec 16 2004, 04:28 PM

The last dealings I had with them were about an oil tank. They swore they were getting a load of factory ones in. I ordered, it came as a V tank. mad.gif WTF, called, was told it fits in the factory spot, factory. I should have known. It was the last thing I ordered from them. They lie, then they don't stand behind what they say. Why he is here is beyond me. mad.gif

GPR and AA are joining forces, http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=197084
What the heck are the people at GPR thinking?

Best way to make a small fortune teamed up with AA is to start with a large fortune. wacko.gif

Posted by: SLITS Dec 16 2004, 05:50 PM

My email to him, his reply and my reply................

Your a shitty business man to jump in on another's post of parts. I doubt that you are an enthusiast, as I have seen your ads for "rust free" cars. You obviously don't know what rust is and where it forms on a 14.

I have bought parts from you or AA (all in the same)....New repro targa side seals with plier marks in them. I didn't know your molds came with plier marks.

So, you want to sell your stuff to this BBS....try doing it in an ethical fashion. You don't see anybody here jumping on another's post with a lower price - we actually respect each other.

I have noticed that you get little play on eBay anymore and that just could be due to your honesty........when you get a shitpile of neg feedback, you just change your name.

And yes, you did do something to me...you jumped on my friends' - those people that inhabit this BBS and that try to HELP one another.

/rant on

I'm about to verbally knock the shit out of this club and some of its members. If you don't want to hear it, stop reading now.

Been listening to many of you insult other peoples' beliefs, cars, countries, religions, races, integrity, products, yada yada. Most of the time admin just kills these threads, especially if goes against their grain. But hang on for a second.

With the help a few dedicated people I'm trying to throw a party next year, and attract sponsors to help offset the cost of this shindig. So AA decides to offer some $$. At the same time you guys are bashing them to death because they either compete with you or they sent you the wrong johnson 20 years ago.

Let's get this settled now. I would personally rather not hassle with sponsors but make the event completely self supporting. It's only about $100 more per entrant and saves the hassles. We don't need no stinkin' shirts, hats, trophies, free meals anyway. But if you want to save the $$ and get more booty, at least stop knocking the sponsors we are working to attract.

So what is it, $100 or STFU?

So Howard... have you ever heard me bash them before?

Do you even know what this thread is about? I doubt highly you even saw what happened as Jeroen cleaned it up fairly quickly.

Do you think it's reputable, or the proper thing to do to hussle your shit on someone else's "Resource Thread"? If you built a better shifter would you go on to Jame's thread and say "Buy mine instead"?

I would have welcomed "TreadISuckGeorgeHusseysDickway's" thread if he would have posted it just like any other vendor.

Well, I'm certainly getting a lot of reaction...I did not mean to step on anyone's toes. I thought I read the rules correctly. I thought I was posting good information for 914 enthusiasts. I too am a 914 owner and would want all the information I can get. I did not post to begin a AutoAtlanta bashing thread. I am new to this forum and I am sorry for the posts that upset some. I know many of you think that AutoAtlanta has a bad reputation, but you should talk to the thousands and thousands of customers that we have that are happy with each and every order. We are an enthusiast business, not like JC Whitney or AutoZone. We take orders from real enthusiasts and we work hard to make their cars right. I will post better from now on and if you'd like to get me a chance I will be happy to speak with you about your order myself (that doesn't mean I can relive every past incident, but I can help you with a new order). Try to give me chance on this forum. Thanks.

Why didn't you just start your own thread and pedal your shit that-a-way?? Genius...

Instead, you hijacked at least 3 vendor threads... people who "really" support this board with donations to events, tech help, etc... I haven't seen you're monkey ass doing any of that here. You're very first post was to attempt to steal business away from someone else.

Hang out for a while... I'll forgive you, because I'm beginning to think you really are that stupid... hell you've been Hussey's bitch for longer than anyone else I've known. I feel sorry for ya... Post some "helpful info". Maybe one of the 100 tips that have been written and rewritten so they add up to 700. Play ball... I think everyone's welcome here. wub.gif

I think Greg could be a good resource here, and I also think that a few people here need to "get over it" and stop with the bashing (not an AA customer since I have great local sources for parts)..and for those that see an item for sale and think it's overpriced, grow up, no need to leave a message cause you don't like the vendor or think the part should be half that price....

I don't know why Eric thinks my $775 kit is so expensive when my kit does all four and includes everything and his kit is nearly $400 for just one side and is just arms and hubs.

Eric, I'm not rude to you so please don't be rude to me. Can't we all just get along. I am sorry for posting in your thread. Now.....I have not been interested in buying from AA...not since I was put on terminal hold way back when (92ish) I called via my own dime across country w/o an 800 #....then somehow I was somehow put on speaker phone and heard them say....hey we got some dork from CA on hold....fuckheem, let heem spend more bucks......"I CAN HEAR YOU ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ok Greg

You have my welcome as a new member. Enjoy and add your expertise.

Having a shirt for the WCC05 is not my primary goal...I have more hats and shirts than I can wear.

This is a community of people who share a lust for a paticular vehicle, share information / experiences for FREE and occasionally bash the hell out of each other.

If you had attended any of the "MEMBER" organized functions...WCC04, MUSR, FFC, fun runs, etc., you would understand who we are.

Sit back, watch....cause we'll watch you for sure!!!!!

Welcome

Ron Meier

Posted by: Dr Evil Dec 16 2004, 08:19 PM

The only way for folks to change is if you let them. Greg F-ed up, is recanting, and seems sencere in not doing business that way again here (under penalty of looking like a complete jerk). However, the only way that someone can take advantage of you is if you let them, so for the mean time it will be a trial period with much caution. I would feel the same if he posted over on my threads and tried to inadvertantly steal my business. The past is unchangable, the future is another story.

Welcome Greg, now play nice or well flame your ass (as we would to anyone).

Posted by: greg.treadway Dec 16 2004, 08:32 PM

That is all I ask is a chance. I didn't mean to hurt anyone's business. Again, Eric's kit is different than mine. I wasn't trying to hijack his thread. I think the control arm idea is a good one. I think GPR's 5 lug conversion is a good one, I think Ralph Boothe's 4-5 conversion is a good one. I think mine is good too. They are all different. Information is king. 914 owners should know their options.

Thanks to those who are willing to fogive my newbie stupidity. I will try harder and that is all I can do. I have had bad experience buying things from mail order companies also. I chalk it up to life and move on, maybe cause I'm in the business. If you see me do something stupid or want to flame me for it, that's fine. I just ask that you not be rude about it. Give me a chance to correct it. Thanks.

beware AA: 3 orders placed with them:

1. rod bearings - received

2. recovered door panels - trash, also missing parts - returned

3. rebuilt distributor - waited weeks - nothing. what up? shipped to wrong address. reorder. wait weeks. wrong part arrives (for 1.8, should be 2.0). Returned my core along with wrong part. Wait weeks. Correct part arrives. Installed, but mickey moused trigger points break same day requiring tow home. Still waiting for refund on core. Call them, no record of my core. Their crappy record keeping combined with their screw ups now have taken so long that no one knows whats going on. Finally did get refund though.

I have dealt with George for going on 20 years...not 1 problem, I have prolly bought more stuff from him than most of you guys comnined...I just do not get the hate here////you guys should wise up a bit and understand that without them we would not have 95% of the items we have for the cars. Repair panels? before AA there were none. for god sake, no one here is perfectm Deroe is a pretty good guy actually. his entusiasim for these cars is more likely the reason these are worth what they are today, sure you can bitch that he is expensive, but how can you run a business on the ast coast (esp where he is in atlanta) and not have tremendous overhead? you think that he overcharges? 50% is a common fee fro used parts in the recycling buisness, depending, it may go to 75%. the big deal here is that you guys think that this stuff should be cheap,,,,,sorry they are PORSCHE"S. if you want cheap buy a VW. all this bashing on venders is really pathetic, i did not see any of his posts, but i know that the whole baord is really anti AA. George was gracious to me and made a deal to get Flares...a lot of you guys here bashing want them cheap...give the guys a break, this is really getting weak. greg.... id like to give you a chance. ive had bad and good with AA, but never a bad with PP, GPR etc....
i think its great that you want to sponsor and help out! smilie_pokal.gif i commend you....

heres my only observation:
LOTS of people have had HUGE customer service issues, and product representation on ebay with AA, that being said....opinions spread like wildfire...and i hope that changes... you guys have a wealth of products and knowledge...

Nick your certainly entiltled to your opinion, but so is everyone else.
reading you post somehow made me think of Ebay shill'ing :finger2:
Dont you think its strange that if AA was infallable and great as your making out, there wouldnt be as many gafs from as many different pople as your your now seeing.

My personal experiance mimics many of the stories.
Back when In knew not of, Automotion, Tweeks, Stodderd & the like I found AA. Bought a few things, evan had a pleasant and interesting conversation with Mr. George one day, when ordering, ...on my dime BTW.

One such oder got screwed, then when trying to resolve over LD & two time zones, got jacked around by someone on the other end who was too busy or didnt care.....
BAD IDEA chair.gif
Ill take my biz elsware, and did.

If I was George Id listen to what greg learns from his participation on the board to improve his operations cool.gif

My .02 Greg/George get a 800 Line!

Wipe it from the plate when others disagree so maybe it is time for this to be pointed at this crap, a message from me.

It was a few days before Christmas and the online brats were at seething to play,
They have found an unguarded place to curse and shake their pointed tails
All thru this cyberspot the few adults there surfing, let it rip to a roar, like a wildfire out of control
Yet another frenzy, always as before, they stalk AA and old George, to hate, to deplore.
They'll brag they never do business with that lifetime Southern friend of the 914
Because he doesn't do business by rules, the way they want to dictate and give him no say
They want it yesterday while insulting the employee on the phone and bitching about the freight
or do they sulk and moan because he won't be their benefactor, their chum and deep pocket friend
Never will that happen, it is easy to see, so they sling mud at his name and business, hoping AA will suddenly be gone
On they always squall like a tempered, sick child, you would think they were neglected, full of hurt and despair
Always these email migraines clamor in the same circled path, their target, the Atlanta 914 king
Bent every so full of their hate for anyone, they really don't know, always part of their endless and vicious game

rdauenhauer, look I just think that this is rediculus, you guys don't know everything(and neuther do I) but sooner or later ALL companies mess up. I have worked in the automotive buisness for most all of my life and what you guys don't know is that your choices are getting smaller everyday....durents...gone, imc doesn't carry much porscge anymore, metrics...gone, interco...gone, dallas european...in recievership, globe...no porsche, world pac...now owned by advanced auto(how long you think they will open huh?) save?,,,,goin away. most of the suppliers of these parts are going or are gone...what are you gonna do then? I don't shill bid for their stuff? i don;t even understand why you would say that...if i want something i just buy it. how long will it be before mid america and performance products show up here as bad suppliers? christ years ago i got scammed by a guy at tweeks ind office, charged up a storm on my card...should i hold that against mid america? no. you know guys like you are funny, "on my dime" are you that cheap? really ? I worked for a place that sold vw parts and we did not have a 800 # to keep guys from calling and talking shop on the phone. if you insist on bitching, that "on my dime" is weak my friend, we as consumers habe the ultimate wat of voting our approval, our $ if you don't like them, just don't buy from them, but if you are getting stuff like repair panels or carpet...thank them for having them made because without George, you would not be able to get them. that is the bottom line and if you don't like the reality, feel free to substitue your own

Never had a bad experience with AA. Never done business with AA. Which is why I've stayed out of this thread thus far. (Though it has been an interesting read.)

Nick: These guys are posting about personal experiences with AA they've had. I trust that they tell the truth. They have no vested interest in driving business away from AA. Mostly, people are just doing a buyer beware sort of thing. We're all friends here. If a company fucked me over, you can be sure I'd warn my friend about them so they don't get bent over a barrel as well. Sort of a fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me kinda thing.

I have no doubt AA is a large business with a huge customer base. And of course, they are allowed their fair share of goofs. But it seems like their goofs to kudos ratio is more like 80:20 from all the feedback I've heard. Of course, I've only heard feedback from my 914 friends here and on rennlist (back in the day). Maybe 911 owners have a different story to tell? I don't know, I don't hang out on that board. My point is, don't attack these guys for posting their testimonials. I may not know the whole story, and neither do you, but coming from the horse's mouth, it's hard to contest.

YMMV,
Jen

As far as 800 #'s go, when I cal HPH, I dial the direct line always. They Answer my questions and deliver the goods.
Twice this week they managed to get the parts to my door next day...UPS.

Maybe Rich Drives it up in the middle of the night. lol2.gif

As to AA, I received some of the things I ordered.
I have a "Flex Dam" on back order since early this year. unsure.gif

If I never get it, who cares. I've got the "Sweeper Dam" now.

I've found AA's parts to be RIDICULOUSLY overpriced.
Check the price on a steel front hood, It's like $600.
I sold one to a clubber for $100.

If I need a hard to find part I go local. EASY, PH, HPH.

i agree w/ eric.

if AA wants to post, then great.  caveat emptor to the board, but no problem.

HOWEVER, hijacking other people's threads -- REPEATEDLY -- is a mild form of dickhead behavior.  being a WCC sponsor doesn't excuse that.  get with the program, it's just common decency.

beerchug.gif

you know what? this upsets me. when i posted my 914-6 chassis for sale i got nothing but guys saying it was rusty and all other sorts of comments....wtf! now you guys bash them for soemthing that maost of you are guilty of yourselfs? give me a break,,,,why such a double standard ? that really shows how you guys really are, pathetic

damn, dude -- sorry you've had such a rough time here! i've had nothing but support from the guys and gals here -- we're almost all in the same boat with these little bastard porsches.

anyway, i think there's a difference between "courteous" hijacking for knowledge and discourteous hijacking for profit. our/my point -- if wildly overstated -- was against the latter.

it's all a moot point anyway. come to WCC 05, i'll buy you a beer. ditto for you greg.

now let's all make fun of aaron.

-profanity deleted- I told you it was time to move on...
Now you make me put on my "admin suit" again (in which I look really silly)

Like I said before, Greg apologized for his newbie tricks. End of story
He's just as welcome here as any other 914 enthusiast.

If you have trouble with AA, take it off line with them

This thread is closed...

cheers,

Jeroen
