Does anybody have pics of the fr/ trunk weatherstrip channel as it should be shaped with the weatherstripping not attached???
I have alot of bent metal--and I have to build up some new pieces to replace the rusted out ones.
Any help appreciated...

Hey thanks allot there syn... Let me ask you this..I have to remove my left fender. Are the tack welds on the inside channel lip or the out side?? Reason I ask is there is much bent stuff and rust and I cannot quite make anything out....
Those pics gave me some very good views--thanks again
no problem, I keep alot of pictures.
Can't help with the tack weld question. I won't have my fender off until I put the car in the wall.
Hi,
I was just looking at my car and I think the tack welds are on the inside(trunk side). I think the channel is part of the fender and attaches to the lip right above the wheel well. hope this helps.
Maybe these pics help some...

so basically, you need to drill out the spotwelds that you see in the channel (from above)

Jeroen,
I don't suppose you have any closeups shots of the cowl/fender area without the fender?
I need to recharge my camera batteries.
I'll shoot some a.s.a.p.
Feel free to PM me in case I forget
There are more pics like this in the last page of my rusto thread. See the link in my sig.
That's the exact shot I was looking for.
Thanks.
Hmmm, I was just preparing to cut the fenders of the Parts car, Jeroen so according to your drawing you have to cut the spot welds from "inside" the weatherstrip channel? Can you accomplish from the wheel well side?
take out the rubber seal and start drilling
