914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rear Alignment Shims

Posted by: malcolm2 Oct 22 2013, 12:51 PM

I sure thought I saw the answer somewhere here, but I can't seem to run it down now. Will someone please chime in with the degrees of camber per mm of rear alignment shim?

I did see a post that mentioned with NO SHIMS you should get -2 degrees, is that the starting point?

Thanks

Google Trigonometry. biggrin.gif

IPB Image

Hypotenuse = Length of the pivot shaft in the trailing arm. = 313mm
Opposite = Shim thickness = 2mm

Angle = inverse sin of opposite / hypotenuse = 0.366 per 2mm shim.

At least according to my assumptions and math. wink.gif
