It was stored at Zotz, but not sold or ever raced by them. It was donated to a Charity that works with helping & preventing Sex Trafficing. Not sure what the Plan is. Im some ways it is nicer than the Spyder.

Very cool, love the look of the 911 Fuchs and steel flares. I'm still waiting for my car from the rebuild and been a bit over the whole 914 expereince. Until this morning a saw a beautiful 914 with chrome Fuchs, chrome bumpers and duck tail with a retro purple looking paint job that just looked ausome so can't wait to drive mine again. Shortly after saw an old school early 70's 911 drive by but just didn't seem as cool.

Actually, after Wrenching on both Race Cars this weekend, I'm probably going to add a few things to this Car & turn it over to somebody. It's super Solid, but I love my other car & I'm also Buying Hot_Shoe's 914 to be a Regular Driver (it was already in the Plans before this one came along).
Since I'm a Teenoholic, I figured Iwould just turn this into the Build of the Car I got from hot_shoe that was formerly called "Betsy"! She is a 73 2.0 Appearance Group Car with 4X,xxx Actual Miles.

Went to the Paint Shop today. The Body Work is Done, except I forgot to tell him to Weld Up the 4 Four Holes for the Rear Lense. It will be sprayed this week!

Just a Heads Up - After I get this one Back, I'm going to Test the Waters to see if someone wants to pick her up. After seeing the 73 1.7 Appearance Group Car go for $29,990 on FleaBay, I know this is a better car.
The Old Adage that once you go to a Six, you can't go back to a Four is True for me. I didn't think it would apply as this is such a Nice car, but!
I gave some thought about putting my spare 2.5 Twin-Plug in her, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with her except the Paint which I'm fixing. Plus I don't want to be That Person that Fuch'd up a Low Mileage 73 2.0 Appearance Group Car. It's Carb'd, but I'm getting a FI System from Garold.
I'm called a Flipper by Some, but it was not my intention with this one ( I'm Really Camp 914 Craig & JRust mysterious Triplet- We don't flip, we save & resurrect). I LOVE the Color, she runs Great, has all the Good Shit, etc.

WTF, I've know this guy for years (He was the Painter at the Porsche Dealership I worked at) and he did a Great job on my Spyder.
He took this job 3 Months ago and saw that it was just a Paint Strip, Take care of little Dings & Paint. He told me 7 Weeks Max, that way when he finished early, we would both be happy. He was well on his way (look at the earlier pictures) to having it down at 4-5 Weeks. Then some personal shit in his life (isn't always?), then he decided to Hook Up with some Wanna-be Reality TV "Monster Garage" Clone so he is working there 6 Days a week. In the meantime my car sits. He told me today, he will have it done in 3 weeks

Dang that paint looks nice! Almost like that 1980's 911 color. I say keep it a 2.0 and sell it for $30's in a couple years but it's yours. Not gonna whine if you convert it since it was for sale for like a year when you bought it. Bet it sounds good with that triad on there.

If it still has the original engine, I believe you should put the fuel injection back on it, get it back as close as possible to factory original condition and sell it for no less than $25K.

I gonna start at the back putting her back together (& it will help me with the wiring on the Spyder!), so I pulled her out in the Driveway. I had to do a little work on the F-150 (as I'm selling it) and I didn't even finish that so back in the Garage went the 914. It gave me the opportunity to grab most of the Parts out of my Storage

Looks nice T.C. Not sure it was worth the wait, but the guy did do a good job. Glad to see he color sanded and buffed it too.
Let me know when you're ready to do the valves and carbs. I'm a little busy with my car at the moment but I should be able to swing by for a bit.

Not sure if this is the thread that T.C. wanted these in, but I went ahead and tore Betsy's carbs completely down. They were gummed up, including the throttle shafts, requiring a teardown. Removed the butterflies, regreased/repacked the shaft bearings, replaced all parts in the kit, reset the float levels, repeened the lead plugs and did a total rebuild. Whenever someone sends me carbs, I try my best to document the linkage adapters and assemble them exactly as they came to me so they are plug-and-play when the customer receives them (of course the final picture doesn't show that ). Hopefully T.C. can bolt these in and get her back on the road. Of course, since we're both in the same area, I'm going to come by and sync them when he's ready, but for now, I think these will do well.

the 5 Lug Fuchs (6&7s) are Polished, Tires Mounted
The 908 Calipers are back from PMB - Super Great Service from Eric. These were rebuilt by Eric a couple of years ago, but just installed recently, but leaked like Crazy. I quick call to E and they were on their way back to him. He said he had never seen the problem before, re-sealed them and they are back in Sarasota and on the car.
I bought a MSD Billit Dizzy, so that will go on.
Then it will be super road worthy.
After that, I have a RennShifter to install!

Work Completed today;
ReInstall PMB built 908 Calipers & bled the system
Installed MSD Billet Dizzy, MSD Programmable Ignition Box, Blaster, Plug Wires
Installed Rebuilt Carbs, re-did the Linkage.
Cleaned up the Wheel Stud Threads, Mounted the Wheels
searched around the Shop for Parts that I knew were there!
Drank Beer with my buddy Carlos!

I hated this car for a while as it sat in Paint Prison for so long and that is why I sold it to Carlos & his partner. Glad I could work a deal to get it back.
I have re-ignited Carlos's interest in 914s. He now has his Partners 914-6 Race Car that I sold him, the 74 little rusty but restorable 914 that that came from 4Blades and a Customers 1.7
Carlos is a Porsche Master Mechanic - other cars in his shop, Carrera 3.0 Targa, '70 911S, 928 Race Car, 993 Turbo, 996 Cup Car that was driven by Wolf Hensler, 964 Cab, 944 Turbo Race Car, and 4-5 996s

TC I love Betsy & the work done to it. Only question I have. Why do the 16x7 in back but stick with the 16x6 up front. The 7's fit better up front anyway. Plus look better In my opinion anyway. You have my blessing to change the front's to 16x7 to make it look right

In my opinion anyway. You have my blessing to change the front's to 16x7 to make it look right Which we all know everyone covet's (my blessing) I like the Combo! The Fronts are Spaced out close to an inch - I had Longer Studs, so no biggie

I just finished up installing Chris Foley linkage and my dad adjusted it. Were impressed with what we've seen so far. Won't be going back to the hex bar anytime soon.
T.C. Are you doing Chump, Sebring this year?

I don't have a Hex Bar, it's a Central Pivot with 2 Linkage Bars
Yes, I'm doing Chump Sebring with my 914 English buddy Geoff again. We are racing with the same Team as last year. We have our choice of running the same BMW we ran last year or a Mercedes with Chevy LS drivetrain
