I am getting a new spam that gets thru my firewall and anti virus. It appears like an instant message, from "Tiffany"....obviously a porn site....any ideas on how to block it?
It's NOT in my email que....
Download a program called BHO Cop (search for it on the internet).
It can help you check for Browser Help Objects.
Sometimes you get some snooping software or other type crap installed unknowingly and it lurks in the background.
Uncheck anything that looks suspicious!
Karl
Change your email addy in your browser before surfin porn...
BHCop is not available any more.
Does anyone have the file they can post or email?
Some spammers are now using the Windows Alerter/Messenger services to pop up stuff on your screen. This is pretty freaky. Your firewall may be configurable to block the network port that those messages are transmitted on, or (depending on your operating system flavor) you can just shut off those services. Very few people actually use them. If you're running Win2K or XP, go into the "Services" applet under the Control Panel - Administrative Tools and change the startup type of the "Messenger" service to Manual or Disabled. (Also click Stop to shut it off w/o rebooting.)
Yeah Chris, I am betting that is how they are getting thru.
Karl, thanks for the download....
Ginter....get stuffed....
If you don't have Spybot, get it....free download.
It also has a blocker available.
Look in Add Remove programs, if it is there delete it!

Holy Fu*king Crap Fu*k! I just downloaded that and it found like 345,871,231,209 of these spyware thingies. I was almost gonna buy a new computer because it would take like 5 minutes just to log into Windows! Now it is like instantaneous. 914 people are good for more info than just 914's!!!
Thanks guys
