914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 1974 2.0L. ecu brain? anyone got one for sale?

Does anyone have a 1974 2.0L brain ecu for sale? 043 [code]

I have been having running issues with my car.

The more I dig into my car the more I realize how the PO scabbed together the fi system. It runs, but not as good as I would like.

I bought the 043 mps and it won't run with it, because I have what I think is a 037 1973 brain/ecu. I have a 037 mps I adjusted to get it running ok.

I never thought I would ask this question, as I have loved the efi for over 10 years I have owned the car, but what type carbs could I cheaply buy to try. I want to verify the running condition of my motor apart from the efi.

if you've been running that engine with that scabbed together FI system.

i'd say replace the bad part, doubtfully you have a combo of issues at one time.

the ecu may not have ever been your problem?

a carb cam and a FI cam are different, keep that in mind.

you may want to begin with a compression test of each cylinder??

seems that a bad vacum line will cause a poor running condition.

most here who have carbs run 40 dual webers I think.

be careful buying from - zero post - members.

let's see a pic of your engine bay : )

I heard the ECU rarely fails so your problem maybe elsewhere.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I need to look for a vacuum leak, like you are suggesting. I hear more air noise than normal. See previous post for more info. I think I had an intermittent fuel problem with one of the main red power wires loose at the battery. I let the car sit for too long and they don't like that especially under a tarp as my garage was tied up.

I have a box of ECU's that I bought with an engine run stand. The guy said they all worked! Let me know the part number of the one you need and we can work out a deal!
