I'm installing (reusing) stock Mahle dished 94mm pistons on a stock 2.0 engine and don't see any arrows on the piston crowns to point to the flywheel. I tried measuring the wrist pin offset with calipers to determine an offset and they measure the same on both sides.
I believe my machinest told me to have the block (circled in the picture) on the bottom of the piston toward the flywheel.
Is that correct? If not, how do I determine the correct direction of installation.
If it's a Mahle piston, there's a mark. Might not be an arrow, but it was marked when it left the factory.

Are any of these symbols indication of piston orientation?
Thanks
The box with a squiggley line is supposed to represent a crank and flywheel. The box goes toward the flywheel.
Does anyone know what the markings on the other side are?
I know the 93... is piston diameter, but what are the rest?
